How do I make a message appear on the screen in a single player mod? Like in HL when a new chapter is started. Ex: We've Got Hostiles, and it says it in the middle of the screen. How do I do that?

env_message. The message name is from titles.txt. Or for custom ones, use game_text, or edit titles.txt.

You make a trigger once, then make it trigger a gmae_text. PLay around with the game text, thats how you do it. :)

is the message name what comes up on the screen?

No it's message text. The name only makes the game_text targetable.

Actually if you use an env_message and don't give everyone the titles.txt, then whatever you type as the Message Name will be displayed on the screen.

There is a titles.txt tutorial in the pipeline, but the author and I are not seeing eye to eye on the content.....
I might post something next month.
