Latest steam news says source engine has been updated. The update states that "Polish Suport" has been added. It gives no explaniation, nor is it on the Wiki. Does anyone know what this is? To me it sounds like a new technique in reflecting light on materials.

Im very interested to know :)

Nicer reflecting materials would be nice.
I think that if it is something special they should add it to Wiki. =/

I actually think it's the language Polish. Notice how the P is capitalized?

I dont get it. Who was owned? Obviously its something with materials/surfaces. Something polished is reflective. Like I said on top, "Sounds like a new technique in reflecting materials." :

What I wanted to know is how Valve implemented it into source, if there are some new .vmt commands, stuff like that......

Wow, ZL what a dumb thing to say. Just looking for an outlet for your hate for Americans it seems.....

I assume its an update for source since it says the engine. Its an excusable mistake. Calm down. Can you not be an asshole for once?

It should say "Steam now supported in Poland" or something along those lines. By saying the source engine it implies an update to the engine itself......
Posted 17 years ago2006-10-18 12:47:47 UTC Post #200008
Maybe it IS only for the Source engine. Maybe the other games already supported it. Or maybe they still don't. I doubt they'd be so specific if it was for every game on Steam.

Could you not act like an ass for once? Oh, wait I dont think thats possible for you....... Geez....

I mean how can I ignore this:

"Maybe if you're an ignorant american with no knowledge of the world outside his own borders!!1"

Not take it seriously. There was no need for that.....

Plus, why would the source engine be available now in poland? It makes more sense to say Steam games, or something along those lines...

The CATEGORY is steam engine, the ITEM is "added Polish support for Source games", it does not say "available in poland".

Also, how could you miss the "!!1"? It is a renowned internet symbol indicating sarcasm, something you ought to have learned by now. And I'm only being an ass towards people I don't like, which is pretty obvious and, um, logical.

What bugs me is the fact that you probably didn't even know Polish was a language.

Polish is what they speaks at teh north pole?

ZL: all joking aside, you're an a-hole. Even if you are a funny one.

Xyos, you made a mistake just lol it away and pay no attention to swedes.

ok I made a mistake. Does not mean I dont know about the polish language. I assumed polish as in reflection, and engine, refering to some technical update applied. I made a mistake, so :(

Who cares about Polish support? 99% of Polish people I've encountered on the internets are too stupid to game anyway, and when they venture into the online gaming world most of them break the rules then play dumb when the admin kicks them.

You have to admit it sounds more like an engine update for polish (you know, cleaning, adds gloss to materials) than adding source games for Poland/polish. If it was worded correctly, it should of said: Steam/source games available in poland. THe way its described insinuates a engine update! You know Im right! :)
Posted 17 years ago2006-10-18 19:49:45 UTC Post #200055
I agree with ZL. This was a freaking retarded mistake, and you ... didn't believe it even after someone said so. It's ridiculous.

Ignorant faggy Americans and their lack of knowledge with geography!

Dude, just shut it. Only reason nobody will admit it was a reasonable mistake is because of your prejudice against americans. God damn take it somewhere else.
Posted 17 years ago2006-10-18 20:06:10 UTC Post #200058
Steam games were already available in Poland.....just not in Polish language.

But really, it was extremely obvious.

How was it obvious? For someone like me who is always working with materials, reflections/etc the first thing that came to mind when seeing Source engine, and polish was a new reflection technique. Of course I know theres a Poland, god damn. Us americans arnt as stupid as you make us. Who won 3 Nobel prizes this year? OMG, it was America! In fact we have almost dominated all areas of it many times, so please dont say were idiots. (Of course this does not justify us as a whole, but its a good example)

lol!

Oh you guys make me laugh. :D

Incidently, the Noble Peace Prize was created by the Swedish, and it's never been, nor will it ever be an indicator of a country's intelligence as a whole.
