Okay... on my map, I have a NON looping sound, and a looping sound...

The looping sound works just fine, because I have the "do not loop" unchecked, and I have the Start / End cues in my sound file.

Now, my other (non-looping) sound has NO cues, and has the "do not loop" checked...

Guess what, the non-looping ones STILL loops... WTF!

I don't have cues in the file, and I have the "don't loop" checked ... yet is still loops ???

Can someone please give me a reason why and/or a way to fix this error.

Thanks.

Hmmm... I almost never use sounds in my maps so I can't really answer this question... But I think I read something about it some time ago... Try giving it a name and trigger it... I probably remember it all wrong. Sorry.

Once again, Im not sure at all. As I said, I almost never use sounds in my maps...

Link to the sounds, and I'll check/test them :)

There have been many threads on this, but in my limited experience I've found:

?files with cue point(s)-HL ones have only 1 sometimes-, the sound will loop forever when used, regardless of any settings--unless it's triggered off, of course.

?Files without cue points will never loop, regardless of flags/settings.

So, I find your repeating, non-cue sound file quite puzzling :P

SORRY... error fiexed!

The sound files came from Doom3's PK4 files.

I converted them from OGG to WAV, then added Cues to the front and end of almost each file.

If it didn't work, I added them.

It had something to do with the "do not loop" and "start silent" being clicked together, and some other mumbo jumbo.

The error was not 100% consitent, so IDK ... a random bug in the compiler ???

Never add more than 1 cue to a file, it'll screw things up.
Also, try to keep ambient_generic questions in 1 thread.

Actually, I think different questions, even about the same entity, should be in different threads. Could cause too much confusion otherwise.
