I built my first HLDM (none sorce) map and need a bit of help.
I have an area that floods (a brush of water move up) but it leaves a "hole" under the water brush that the player can swim down to and walk around.

What is the best way to fix this so there is no "air pocket" under the water wen it rises up?
2nd question: What is "Lip"? I have failed to find info on the proporties of "Lip". I would like to know what lip is and how it works in relation to water and doors.

For the water, you could just lower your brush, or change the lip. The lip property basically lets you fine tune where your door/water/button stops, so it won't move as far as it normally does, or it'll travel farther. So if you enter "8" into it, it's going to move 8 units past the normal stop point for the door, and if you use "-8", it's going to stop 8 units before the normal stopping point. By default, a door will move across its entire length and stop there.

Thankyou srry:

I ajusted the hight of travel of the water brush by streching the brush down + or - units untill it stopped at the hight I wanted.
So now that I know what "Lip" is, I suppose that using that, it will solve my sir pocket problem.

I will work on it.

Looking into questions on water, how would you make it that the player can travel through it in some sort of box elevator, and not get wet?

Goddammit, I can never remember which is which. :aggrieved:

Kinrah: I'm not sure there is a way. I've thought of doing it myself, and it may be possible, but it really depends on how you want to use it. I guess you could carve out (you know, without actually using the carve tool) an area in a water brush, and fill it up with another that would move up/down with the elevator. Still, I'm not sure if this would work, simply because I haven't done much experimenting with water at all.

Thankyou espen180:

I was having difficulties getting my water brush to work right with "Lip" (even verbal lip) -heh.

So I reversed the numbers and all is fixed.
