Ok, Im having a slight problem: I want to play my map online, but so many files! The maps I download only have one file, how do i put all of my compiled files into the bsp? Or what do I do?

please be more specific.

how many files can you have? it depends on the MOD, but, if you mean models and sound files, just put them in the corect folders in the correct MOD folder. When people try to download the .BSP, those sounds and models automatically go with it. if you want to put it in the Map vault here, jut include them with it and tell people to put them in the right spot in the map description. Or, just use a .BSP with no new stuff.

short answer, you can only compile the wad into the bsp
Stick everything else in a directory structured zip file relative to halflife (eg with directories like tfc/models/mapname)

Try not to put 3 gig of wav files in for l33t musak that some people think makes a map worth playing

If you mean the mapname.wic and all the .pt0 etc files they are not needed.
The bsp for playing, any sounds/wads etc on the side.

ok i mean after I compile my half life map im left with a bunch of other files, heres what they are:
.lin
.p0
.p1
.p2
.p3
.prt
.pts

I tried playing my map in multiplayer. When I tried to make the server, it got about 1/10th done and then reset itself back to the main menu.

You don't need those files to play the map.

First of all it's only the BSP that's used when you're running a server. The rest are generated by the compiling tools for various purposes. If your server crashes then there might be something wrong with your map. Anything odd in the compiling report?
