I tryed to create a machine gun which was pretty basic with a cylinder for the barrel a cuboid for body a tripod, an ammo box and two handles as well as an origin and tank controls yet for some reason even on a map which is just a square the compile process window says max leaf faces and the map wont load, any help would really be appreciated.

You have gone over a limit similar to max patches error, but by BSP creating too many leaf faces for VIS to handle - probably due to "shattering" of a brush. Did you carve a complex brush (like a cylinder) or intersect it with another brush?
