I'm working with Spirit, and i want to know if it's possible to make env_shooters follow the player. I've tried setting 'move with' to '*player', and have also tried using a trigger_motion to do the same, neither work.

Does anyone have an idea how to acheive this, or if it is even possible with Spirit?

That's not exactly what i'm going for, they're above the player, and i want them to move with his every action.

Although what I am about to say is for Source I suppose it applies to HL1...

Like Espen said making things follow the player can cause lots of problems as you already know and I tried making a ragdoll that floated like a ghost with invisible ropes follow the player and boy did it work but it would get stuck in floors and cause the game to crash...

Also you said you typed *player but isn't it !player? I'm not sure

I'm not sure either, and i've tried both. I can probably abandon what i had in mind anyway.. would've been nice, but it's no big loss.

I think the name of that 'name' value in the stupidedit is 'targetname'. Hope it helps since in the smartedit there is no name value, even in spirit.
