Just a few questions...

How do you include a custom model into a map, if theres a variety of ways (such as include textures), if you wouldn't mind please explain them all. I'm hoping including a model can save me here (I've been spending hours trying to make trees/etc  and it just hasnt worked). I'm an average mapper, but this is my first time using a model, any help on how to do this would be very apreciated.

Also I won't be able to respond till late tomorrow,

Thanks in advanced :P

I don't belive you can bundle them up with your map in HL1 akin to textures. You'll have to include them with your map - you can always write a server information file to tell servers to send the models to clients when they download the map, as well, but I'm not quite sure how that's done as I haven't worked with HL1 in a very long time. There may be a tutorial on it here with regards to that.

Unless you're asking how to insert them into your map, in which case you use a cycler entity.

basic models (with only one emote (not monsters) )
can be entered in ur map with cycler or cycler sprite (cycler cant be walked trough , cycler sprite can.)

i had a decent model site but i forgot the name, so if u have cs or any other decent mode, serch its models folder maybe ull find a tree there :P

I remember I had a few tree models but I lost them. Though I will ask the maker of those models for them. :)

Anyone know why .mdl files used in map download twice to a client off the server? (using .res file)
