Hi there does anybody know how to make a LED effect, like a little blue light that you can see but doesnt rellay light up everything arround it. Thanks

Like a glow?

Can be done simply with the entity env_glow

Yep, an env_glow or env_sprite would do it.

env_glow doesnt make the effect reallistic if your close to it

Could you make it tiny? Like, .01 in scale?
I know the texlights with low luminosity will definitely look similar.

Maybe you could just make a little blue brush-based entity and give it a minimum light level so it's bright. No need for texture lights.

A tip for anyone asking questions in the forums. If you give a small description of what will that entity/effect really be inside the map, the replies you'll get will always be more helpful. For example, if this LED is going to be part of a computer display, it will probably be different than the single light that marks the location of a lonely button.

Just make(or get) some custom textures and make them an additive func_illusionary with a 255 render amount.
Edit: Or just use an env_sprite :|

I want to make a dark room and I want to put a mac in the middle surrounded by little blue lights that r futurish...so it will look nice and make the spot really visible, also want to make an airport style awp map so im thinking landing pads would be nice ...

Hmmmm interesting.... Kaspergs idea would work, personally I have never used textlights since mapping for half-life 1. Just the humble light entity for me.
