What the hell is ground strafing?
Posted 16 years ago2007-07-25 00:20:35 UTC Post #230188
I think it's some annoying technique people use in CS to move faster than normal...

I thought that was wall strafing, where you just strafed against a brush while running.

I googled it, people bind the crouch command to the mouse wheel so they can go up and down really fast and kind of glide across the ground. Seems kinda cheap to me. :

Oh god I hate people who do that crap.

It's very annoying, the number of people who use weapon and movement cheats in games these days. Ground strafing in CS, the Grenade and Gravgun quick-switch in HL2DM.. takes all the fun out of it.

The "grenade cannon" isn't a glitch. That's long since been a legitimate strategy.

Yes, but there is a quick key bind people set up that does it with absolute ease, there's no skill involved that way.

although, its not hard to do without a bind, pull out grenade, right-click at your feat, hit G, right click, and chuck

Yes, but do that in the middle of a battle in mere seconds. People use binds to do it continuously and there is nothing more annoying to me.

There's a number of speed binds that I just find cheap.

Who the hell would need a script for something as simple as lobbing a grenade and pressing G?
Posted 16 years ago2007-07-25 05:42:58 UTC Post #230230
i can airstrafe but not on ground
while standing on the ground, press A.
hurrah, you are strafing!

What the hell is AIR strafing?

its a method of alternating A and D to jump further; used for kz maps.

Ground strafing heh? Silly.
Stuff like that just doesn't fit to games like CS imho.
Bunnyhopping etc is more for games like TFC.

this reinds me of how i used to play Socom 2 on PS@ online. after a year 50% of people online were hacking. For Socom 3 it only took 4 months and one couldnt go into a game without someone glitching his way into a wall and shooting everyone from inside it.

Fucking hackers i swear to god. Like.. why do people just want to shoot other people and not die? shit put on some bots if you wanna do that.
Only thing worse than that is speed hackers.

The only reason why i buy awps in CS:S

I'm sick of players exploiting glitches. Some friends I play with are beginning to glitch-play and I don't have the time to learn to do it, so I always lose and I have no chance of ever having fun.

I say Valve makes an update immediately. :x
