No need to make a new thread though, just continue here.
Do you actually read? I told you you don't have to make a new thread! You even copy/pasted your original thread without even reading any replies?

Plus, i also told you to post what game/mod you're mapping for in your other thread, which you didn't, so here it is again:

What game/mod are you mapping for?

Thats a weird log. All it says is:

Error: File read failure
Maybe your .rmf/.map file got corrupted or something.

I suggest you download ZHLT 3.4
You're using an older version (2.5.3).

See what happens when recompile your map with ZHLT 3.4 and post the log.

Maybe one of the temporary files created by ZHLT got corrupted. Goto the directory where you keep your .rmf file and delete the following files:

mapname.map
mapname.max
mapname.wic
mapname.p0
mapname.p1
mapname.p2
mapname.p3
mapname.prt
mapname.pts
mapname.lin
mapname.bsp

Make sure you don't delete mapname.rmf!

Now, simply Export to .MAP again, and recompile. All those temporary file will be recreated and hopefully fix the file read failure error.

I don't really know then.
You can upload you're map to the Problem Maps Vault so i can have a look at it. If you don't want anyone to download you're unfinished map, upload the map somewhere and PM me the link.
You can also email me the map.
Just be sure to tell me the wads you've used.

Save your rmf somewhere , then delete all - hammer , zhlt , everything mapping related you use to build the map and reinstall the programs again . Maybe your programs got corrupted .

Woah.

My guess is that your configuration is messed up. Try creating a new map with just one room and an info_player_start, and compile it and see if it works.

If it doesn't, see if there is anything wrong with your hammer settings. If there isn't, do what (C)Striker wrote.

Try changing the map name or try compiling another map. I've gotten this error erroneously using the Hammer to compile certain filenames for no reason at all... now i only use batch compiler and never get it! = )

You could also try your same configuration on another comp to rule out a filesystem error? /reaching

iv changed the map name before and had no luck, i have no idea how to use batch compiler

1. Double check your setup through options
2. Copy and paste the map into a new map. Save with another name.. then compile.

I have used hammer to compile ALL my maps and I have never had this problem. These kinds of problems are usually a setup error or the system CANNOT find the file. Make sure you go thru the WHOLE setup process and make sure the system is finding the file. I agree with whoever said to make a simple map; i.e., a simple player start and try to compile it. There should be NO problem with a simple player start. If this does not work then you have a setup error. If it does then your map is screwed.

Could you post some screenshots with your configurations ? ( Tool > Options and post screenshot with the "Game configurations" and "Build Programs" .

Also , tell us were are the folders with the files hammer is using ( zhlt and hammer files )

Are you mapping for Half-Life 1 or Half Life 2? Big difference with the set-ups. Usually HL2 sets everything up correctly unless you have been tampering with the options too much. If this is the case then you can find examples on many sites on how to set-up both Hammer for Hl1 and HL2. Neither are too hard to figure out but they must be set-up right.

A very simple error. I come across it very often as I am using custom textures. Judging by your compile log you are too. To fix it, add a new compile parameter:

-texdata 40000

to all compile programs CSG, BSP, VIS and RAD. Like what you've done here:

Command line: hlcsg -nowadtextures Aim_Max

The error is caused by too much texture data being sent to the compiler. I can't cope and gives this error. The amount is affected by both number of textures and size of textures, the larger the texture the more data it takes up. Zoners limit is 4mb, the original tools were 2mb. Zoners has a setting to increase the limit which is what I have told you, this increases it to about 40mb
