Im pretty sure this question will have been raised before so if it has if someone could just supply a link i would be thankful.

Basically im wondering if there is a way of exporting textures from another game (in this case COD2)to bmp format and then using them in HL?

Perhaps you might find and ask a COD2 community site about getting it from COD2-

Its likely none of us know how :/

If you can get it out of COD2 to a common image format, we should be able to help you get it into HL

Oh im not specifically asking for COD2 it can be for any game, I know this is possible just not sure how :s .

In that case, it really depends on the game.

Several different games use several different texturing systems, so that usually means different image formats.

If you can extract a texture from a game (again, it really depends on which game and what engine it runs on), then we can get it into HL1

there are ways to do it, other than extracting. might not be as good but you can always printscreen and then edit it in photoshop.

Just find out the format those textures/resources are saved in, google it and you should stumble upon something eventually.
