Anyone know if it's possible to get it to work? I guess i can use Crafty to playtest my maps when i don't have Steam available, but It would be great if i could get WON to work...

Is that a 64bit operating system? WON is only 32bit, that might be why

Aw that really blows all my other 32-bit applications work..

Is there a command line switch to force WON to use DirectX upon startup? Pengy said that might work, but i can't get in there to even change it.

All 32-bit applications should work on Vista x64, so I don't think that's the problem.

Did you try running it in some sort of compatibility mode? Windows 98 mode should do the trick

Nice Chicken/madcow. It actually loads a black screen now instead of crashing, but that's about it. Anybody have WON installed on their own vista machine? (just wondering if it's a Vista issue or an x64 issue)

Yeah, mine is and it works fine, and mine is only a 32bit system.

well fuck me running i'll keep trying. Satchmo and Chickenfist has x64 maybe they could try if they are listening?

I'll try reinstalling and some other stuff, since the only way i can get steam to work without an internet connection is to put my laptop on standby when i leave an access point(offline mode fails for me 75% of the time and i have no idea why. It sucks...

edit: if i revert my dx10 to dx9 will that help? Is it possible dx10 is screwing it up?

Unlikely, DX has usually always been backwards compatible, leaving old ports open for the older programs that can't read new technology. However, I do not have DX10, so it is a possiblity!

I also learned recently learned my gta san andreas and battlefield 2142 won't run either, despite patches and compatibility modes. I was hoping the dx10 thing would do the trick, aw... = (
