This study proves that Jack Thompson is right after all.

Playing video games can kill you.

Video games didn't kill those people. They failed to have proper ventilation in which I may suggest looking at the warning labels on the generator because it might say something about ventilation.

Jack Thompson still can't say shit.

... They should have kept the generators in their garages and plugged it into the circut breakers instead of playing/watching next to the generators.
Video games are not the cause, human stupidity is.

If these people are stupid enough to run gasoline generators inside their house with absolutely no ventilation, they deserve to die. I can just picture it, a generator running right next to a TV in closed off room with some kid happily playing away. Why don't they just pipe their car's exhaust into their house, while they're at it?

I showed my brother on MSN, he said people who don't know how things work shouldn't use them.
You burn gasoline and expect to NOT get deadly gases? Retards. :walter:

Fools. sigh
Articles like this are going to be a nasty strike for video games, because most people are stupid enough to believe video games caused it. >_>

Sadly, stupid people place the blame wrong, and stupider people believe them. Then try to pass a law or something to that effect.

I talk to parents who refuse vaccination every day.

facepalm
WTF is wrong with them? Do they WANT to have their kid catch a deadly disease? The only reason I dislike vaccinations is because of the needles.

Bad title, but the article and it's conclusions are very reasonable. I guess there's a little shock-journalism even in medical publications.

Video games are not the cause, human stupidity is.
Sadly, this is true in most cases regarding videogames.

I just watched the Penn & Teller: Bull! and if you haven't seen it, you all should. They break down the hype and show that this violent game crusade is total bullshit. Highlights are:

-a nine-year-old boy who plays violent games is given the chance to fire three shots from an assault rifle, only fires one, and then cries afterwards

-they state a fact that football (a game encouraged by schools), has killed over 630 kids in the last 70 years and caused countless physical injuries of varied type (blown knees, concussions, etc...)

-they debunk one anti-games advocate's school shooting triangle (knock-off of the fire triangle), which features 'guns', 'troubled kids' and 'mass-killing simulators' with a school shooting that happened before the invention of video games and the most deadly school killing, were the weapon of choice was explosives and was perpetrated by a 55-year-old man

If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. It's hilarious.

I too used to watch Penn & Teller: Bullshit!, and I think they had some good points on some of the subjects they brought up. But now, they seem to have gone off the deep end on some of the latest subjects they are choosing, and for that, I am watching them a lot less than usual.

These are just some of the things they have been talking about against, and just plain trying to debunk (remember, these are mainstream values):

The Bible
Recycling
Family Values
College
Endangered Species
Love for one's pets

Now, I am not saying that everything they say is bad, no...many times they have some good points of view on important subjects. But I really believe one should never trust everything they say all the time, after all, they do have their own personal agendas.
