once in a while when i make a cylinder i get this sad misshapen thing and its all messed up...
whats wrong???

Hammer. Don't use too many sides.

Although Hammer indicates that it can do 32 faces to a cylinder, it is LYING.
Stick with cylinders that have a maximum of 28 faces. And if you rotate the cylinder, don't forget to do a bit of Vertex Manipulation to make sure the brush is formed correctly.

I think its a better better to either not rotate the cylinder, or turn it into a func_rotate stick in an origin brush and set its starting coordinates. That tends to look the best anyway
