What?

Thats right, the main plugin set has already been written as a test to create a real economy on a TSRP server (The Specalist Role Play), and is being ported over to CS with more MMORPG features.

These are the core ideas:
  • A main server that will act as the town/central gathering area with shops and what not.
  • 4-10 other servers to act as child servers to the main one.
  • Child servers will be locked, only accessable through the plugin set, that will send players to that server and input the password for them via config file.
  • Child servers will be the "Questing" and PvP areas.
  • Blueprints, mining, leveling, and questing
  • A custom AI system coded from scratch specifically for this plugin set

The mapping should take about a month or so, I have 10 days off in a week from today, and I can whip out the majority of the work then.

I am looking to possibly add 1 mapper to this project, as I don't want quality to suffer from mapping 5-10 maps.

If you have followed any of my projects befor, you know there is a bandwidth killer worth of pics to come over the next couple weeks, so stay tuned and please ask questions or add suggestions.

I like this project, It would be nice If you can pull it off. I am willing to help you out with the mapping part if you require help still. I have four years experience in the goldsource engine and have mapped for cs1.6 before, I know the editor, engine and its capabilities very well. see my finished maps in my profile if you wish. PM me if your interested, Ofc I'll need a proper introduction to the project since I have never seen this before.

You know, the way you describe it, I now feel a MMORPG could actually work on a FPS engine.

So yea, ApolloRP 1.3 is being ported to CS, but this project is moving to source, as a stand alone mod.

wow I like the idea of this, I used to have a similar idea to this one.

A cops n robbers mod, where players can be good or bad(for lack of a better word), and develop into swat-style gangs and organised crime gangs, respectively.

The bad gangs try to commit crimes, and the good gangs stop them. The world is kept in balance by AI, being police and citizens, making sure that one side doesn't dominate.

Elements from 'The Ship' mod would be employed, so that there isn't all-out-war on the streets, and the bad people can walk around like normal people.

Rules would dictate what each team can do, yet another measure to keep the game in balance and realistic, for example not allowing the good people to shoot their weapons on the street or for no reason, or hurting civilians, which would apply to the bad people also.

I suggest you look into TSRP then, cause that is what it is.

It has been on its death bed for the last 2-3 years, but there are still a hand full of RP servers.

Any links to push me in the right direction? preferrably a direct download link. I see a dead and unofficial looking forum, but thats about it :(
