Discuss? I'm suprised this hasn't been brought up that much already, myself.

Personally, I don't really see much point in it. Though that's coming from someone who bothered making this...

I guess the point is creativity with some gameplay thrown in, or at least so far.

I have (brought) it, gets boring after abit though. I used to play it when the free old version quite a while back, funnily enough that got boring too.
I never learn.

It's a great time waster for a few hours, after that it feels more like work than play...

I played it a bit. Extremely relaxing and stuff, but yes a bit time waster. If I was going to go back to a block building game, I'd go back to Roblox which is a lego like builder with an offline editor and some kind of script language to make game play elements. Minecraft is nice, but I didn't care about it for too long.

Bought it. I used to put a lot of time into it, slowed a bit recently.

Still play it every day though.

I played the crap out of the free version. Maybe by the time it's finished I'll be ready for another binge and pick it up.

Fantastic game.

I don't see the fun it it. I tried the free version for half an hour and after building some random stuff with pixelinfested blocks I got bored and quit. But apparently I'm the only one who has this opinion.
It's like hammer, except you are limited to blocks and there is no action, entities or good graphics

Release: 'OM I JIZZEd'
2 Hours later: 'so ya i beat it it wuz good and stuff'
A Week later: 'OMG GUIZ LOOK AT THIS OTHER GAMEE111'

Never played the game but THIS (11016*5776, 12.2 MB) is pretty darn impressive.

And they got the thing from Contact too - that crazy spinning space-time distortion device.

Found out about this a couple weeks ago when the server got overloaded and it was free to play for a few days, then I just bought it. It's pretty good fun.

Multiplayer is also good for some entertainment, just seeing what other can do, right in front of your face.

AND to keep this related...

Unfortunately it's the exact OPPOSITE of what I had expected. I expect L4D skins and maps in Minecraft, rather than Minecraft style textures and monsters in L4D.

I've seen some big servers, but that iso map one takes the cake and rapes it.

Hey guys, I was at the London BAFTA place today for a lecture by one of the main creators of little big planet, he was talking about stuff like what inspired him to create the game and how he went about with it etc etc... and along the lines he actually mentioned Minecraft and that exact picture muzz posted in this thread. Pretty cool huh?

I've got it.

I play it from time to time (every day, especially at work during lunch with 4 other guys :P)

I'm not obsessed though. No. Not me.

Oh hay, here's a minecraft diary I work on. ?_?

That reminds me of my friends world, he tried to build a fireplace and ended up setting fire to his house, and burnt most of the wooden floor away. He was devastated that his work was destroyed (as in a section of his small, mostly stone house), so he lost the will to continue playing and ended up burning most of the trees in his world.

The game's still far from perfect. I found a hole in the bedrock, so I stashed all my stuff and jumped in. I fell out of the level and died.

I've heard of that error. It's a side effect of the way the game is coded so that the bedrock is non uniform, to make it look less weird if you clear a large area.
