I've been getting a "Leaf portals saw into leaf" error and I've had a hard time locating the brushes causing the errors.

Is there any sort of way to jump to the coordinates of the brushes? Or is there another way to go to them like brush numbers? I've tried the brush numbers thing but apparently they weren't the correct ones, is there any way to locate the right ones?

I've tried compiling my map with full vis but it still crashes with the "Alloc Block: Full" error when I try to play it.

Sorry for all the noob questions, I'm new to mapping in Goldsrc and I'm trying to find my barrings. I also apologize if this isn't the right board to post help questions on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Noxx,

Unfortunately Hammer 3.5 doesn't have a 'go to coordinates' feature. However, Sledge does and could well be the solution to all your problems.

Hammer 4 also does, so you could potentially open your RMF in there and go to coordinates, then switch back to 3.5 once you know what the problem brush is, but to be honest, Sledge is the better option here.

Best of luck :]

Hammer can find a brush number. On the menu bar, go MAP > GO TO BRUSH NUMBER... or CTRL+SHIFT+G

But yes I also recommend using Sledge. It makes you smile.

Rim, I do love you, but read the damn question before you post :P

Leaf errors do not display brush numbers - only coordinates.

Plot twist: Rimrook is an intelligent response machine using bleeding edge AI, tested on this board.
Everybody's amazement of his work is just another confirmation that we're one step closer to singularity.

Back to the subject: Noxx, if tracking down those brushes fails, it's mostly because this problem is a structural one. You have to visually search for a zone that "has a leaf which isn't entirely convex, so that at one position within the leaf you can look out of the leaf and see back into it.".
Try changing some brushes into func_detail. You can also isolate areas by using the cordon tool.

I couldn't remember if leaf errors shown the brush number or not, it's been a while, even longer since I've had a leaf error.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll give sledge a shot, looks like it's a lot better than default hammer. I'll see if I can't track down the brushes causing the errors and try fixing them and compiling again.
