Hey, I've been having a serious problem with Half-Life. I had this error once before about a year ago, and I'm not sure how I solved it back then.

The error is that every brush in the level is constantly switching between textures. It look like this.

This was caused when I switched from having the HD models on, to off. I've tried switching between them, but that doesn't seem to make a difference.

I've tried uninstalling the game, to no avail. I've tried uninstalling AND deleting the game's files completely off of my hard drive, to no avail. I've also tried updating my NVIDIA drivers, but nothing seems to be making a difference. I've also tried switching to the Half-Life beta and launching it, instead.

Has anyone ever had this problem before? If so, how did you fix it?

Try to start HL with the -nofbo launch command and see what happens.

Even though it's really strange; I've never seen such a thing on HL in my life... I hope your video card is not dying.

That should do anything IIRC? Thats just putting the world in a FBO.

FBO and VBO are two different things.

The problem persists.

I don't think it is. I have a friend who was playing with me, and he now has the same bug despite having a much newer video card. Every other game in my library works perfectly fine.

SOLVED!

Weird. For some reason, having Evolve (the server-making program, not the game) active was causing this problem. Deactivating it seemed to have solved it.

Huh.

Well I'm stupid. Thanks for clarifying that Solokiller.

Glad the problem was solved.

Glad it has been solved.

You should definitely inform the developers of Evolve to check this issue providing the same video you showed us, since they're stating that it's compatible with Steam (hence its games I presume).
