Hellooo. I have a question. Is there any way to make a func_tank with a laser beam, or sprite?

Do you mean that fires a laser? Or has a targetting laser?

If the former, this certainly is possible, though haven't done it in a while and would need to review one of my maps. The latter might not be possible with Vanilla GoldSRC.

Unless he actually meant a targeting laser that's always visible, which, to my (very limited knowledge of the HL SDK) isn't possible without modifying the gamecode, like you said.

No guys. I don't mean func_tanklaser. I mean func_tank with targeting laser. I don't really care if it is going to bee part of the func_tank or a sprite. As long as it is a non-solid stuff, just to see where the player is pointing the gun/func_tank. It could even work like the RPG with that laser sprite from Half-Life. I don't care. I only want a pointer. :combine:

You might be out of luck with vanilla GoldSRC in that case. I've only ever seen targeting lasers on a func_tank in the Spirit of Half-Life engine. :(

If it was an enemy turret that the player didn't control but shot at you, you could probably create two tanks overlapping eachother, one shot a laser doing zero damage and another one that shot. It would appear to be aiming at you with the laser. However to make it the one you control, is not solid flag available for turrets? Because if so, just make the whole func_tank render as solid and use a masked texture for the laser beam. Or additive.

Well. I guess I am screwed up. I wanted it for a DE map, on the bombsites. But as it seems, the CTs gotta aim for them foolish Ts. :|
