1.) When i use winbspc12 to contert a .bsp to a .map for the purposes of learning, the conversion goes fine. When i open the .map file on WorldCraft, which i just downloaded today cuz i reformatted my computer and I havent used Worldcraft in months, some error pops up.

When i go through the map, i see no textures (in the camera texture mode). Is there something i configured incorrectly when i setup WorldCraft today?
BTW, the three .WAD files i m using are liquid, decals, and halflife

I dont know if this makes any difference but i using Counterstrike.

2.) Which one is best for the using Counterstrike? halflife.fgd or halflife-tfc.fgd ?

Thanks in Advance
:)

How about counterstrike.fgd? Get it here.

How about using cstrike.wad, too? For Counter-Strike?

PS: Sorry if that sounded patronising

Depends on what WADs you were using back then. You need to have them in your texture list to be able to see them.

Use Xeno.wad as well. And, if you REALLY want, spraypaint.wad. Nothing else, unless you're mapping for CS, which I believe you are, in which case you can use any wads that came with CS...just make sure you ask about some of them, because not everyone who has CS owns them...like chateau.wad, which I don't have. Also, never use more than 8 wads at a time, and please DON'T use as many textures as possible...it looks really tacky. I usually limit myself to about 30 textures per map, but I sometimes hit 40.

I don't really like the xeno.wad or spraypaint--
I just use the basics-- and custom wad files-
Its all you really need

Vassy, Unbreakable.
Did either of you guy's actually read the thread???

This guy is missing textures from a decompiled bsp. This has always been a problem with decompiling programs, regardless of wether you are using it for educational reasons (as in TrueBlue's case) or just blatantly ripping off other peoples work.

Doesn't matter either way, because these forums do not support or offer help to members using decompilers.

TrueBlue check out google if you are still stuck, or head over to Collective, they have a new favorite.

The point is, never use winbspc12. It's rubbish, unreliable, doesn't generally work... and it's ugly too.

In fact, don't decompile at all. Ask people, contact the authors or more experienced mappers that know how it's done.

Hey I'll give you almost the same answer, set down the decompiler and back away. You will learn much more from tutorials and maps that were designed as examples!
