OK, for all you guys who love city maps as much as I do here's something to look forward to. I am making a map called full_city for Half Life online. As soon as I finish it I will convert it to de_full_city. Here is an overview of what the map will be:

Full_city will be a gargantuan map. Hopefully with low r_speeds. The city will be proportianally correct with over 5 complete buildings (that a lot of space if you havent been to a downtown area recently) And there will be a lot of rooftop fun with ground level fun.

Man, I really enjoy city based maps! Kinda makes the realism of the game higher. I'll be waiting for your map, dude!

that's cool... but I already saw that city type! try playing the specialists. they have that map called ts_urbannights. It's gargantuous and complete with every cityish detail and has low r_speeds. I think that's exactly what you're trying to make... just a thought :roll:

Meh, it probably wont take that long. Its big and detailed but i can make it pretty fast.

OK I finished the brushwork and texturing in 3 days. he map does NOT lag but have some lighting issues to work out. The map in almost finished, errr its a very cool map despite that I have only worked on it for about 10 hours, give or take an hour. But I got a new concept for making city maps. If you have seen winter_city/big_city then you will notice that I made the buildings with brick textures and just added glass blocks for windows. I trashed that idea for full_city and used building textures from cs_assault and de_train. But the buildings look suprisingly realistic.

That's promising!

Be sure to test it on a network though before releasing the final version, and test it on some lower-end machines.

Im mapping it first as a Half Life map wih cs wads, then I will convert it to a cs map later.

I imagine playing it in HL teamgame... But you'll have to put alot of work into it, may be even request help for the team-specific entities and evnets.

OK, the Half Life version is ready. if you dont like the Half Life version, dont be dissapointed, the cs version will be MUCH better.
