an idea i had almost a year ago.
a wwII jetfighter mod for hl.
nwo you probavbly say: well how do you want ot do that on the hl engine. well quit easy actualy. if you ever layed hl rally you will have noticed how big the maps are. not so strange, your very very small. so if i could convert the special hull to my 'mod' i should be able to solve that problem. for texture i coudl use dod textures since oyu can use them in your own mod. as they are owned by valve. the models shouldn be a problem. a few simple animations. it will be the weapon oyu see in 3rd person wichis also you. so you will see the plane from behnd. whilst the plane is your weapon. then you give the player the properties of a WWII plane(coding). now i have that solved, the houses could be a set of models so you can simulate viliges towns and forests. the rocks and train can be formed by the trinagle mothod. and wiht fog effects supported by hl you should be able to decrase fps as they do in other games like battlefield. the modles i cna make my self. i think if i aks the hl rally team they can give me instructions how to adjust the hul file. the aircraft shouldn be a problem. firing is wiht the mp5 and secundary will (maby if possible)drop a bomb on a target. liek a func breakeble. you cna select your plane by selecting a class system as in tfc and dod. and you shoudl be able to limit the classes. liek me-109 quik fighter. he-111 the heavy bomber to destroy the target.
i should be able to make when oyur 'walk' at a certain sped oyu will go up(generate lift).
i would liek your gusy opinion about this. ministeve will maby remember the post from last year, he reacted to it. for now il start by myslef and see how far i come.
