I have just started playing Natural Selection with my previously unused Steam account and I must say it is f**kin great, and difficult. Anyway, I would like to start mapping for it and as it plays completely different to other mods, I don't know where to start. Is there any like resource sites for it? With FGD's and stuff? Also, if anyone here has any tips, please tell me some.

A fellow NS mapper! There should be an NS.fgd in the NS mod folder. As for resources, check out skulkrush, they have some nice tuts and such.

Have fun!

Try the mapping guide. Skulkrush has more generalized tuts, although it has something on weld points.

Yes, the NS site should have some helpful links and resources.

No Problem.

The mapping basics are fairly simple, its when you start with particle systems and ns_ mode maps that things get really fun ;) .

Oh, like some sort of alien village on a far-away planet? Seaside? Two suns at the horizon? Tall rocks with tribal signs of a long-forgotten alien race?

Nah, not so original... a spaceship number 19682 would be much cooler... ;)

Particle Systems are entities that produce er, particles. They're used for detailed Steam and such.

Mapping for the OLD NS was fun, mapping for NS2.0 (CS Edition) is less fun. You have all the same textures, but the game is now boring.#

What.. me? Bitter? Wheres someone to say how many times I've been banned from the forums ;)
