I've made some custom sky textures from landscape photographs, changed them into 256x256 8-bit bmps and tgas, but when they display you can tell it's a cube and the corners are really defined. Does anyone know of any kind of image-editing software that can sort this problem out? The standard HL textures look like they've been manipulated so they don't look like a cube.

I had this problem too. I looked around in PSP7 for a while and nothing helped. I will check this thread for help too.

Cheers :D

You should fiddle it together as one big image first, then cut it up. Make a sort of 'net' of them. If you want, you can e-mail me the pictures (ZIP them) and I'll do it for you :)

Cool. :D

Cheers mate. Does one end of the texture need to be at the same level as the other? eg. If i wanted to send you a 256 x 1024 of some hills would the hill on the left need to line up with the hill on the right?

Yes; unless you want the hill to sharply jump up.

So the cliff jumps up...maybe the Black Mesa incident caused some geographic anomalies?
