ok this is gay. i try compile my map and when the filename has more than 8 letters it chops off all but 6 and puts a ~1 there, like it's DOS or something.

now it will compile my map and try to run the full length name instead, and then it can't find thefullname.p0 cuz it's looking for theful~1.p0 and then it can't find thefullname.bsp on the server because it dumped it to theful~1.bsp.

HOW THE HELL DO I FIX THIS IT'S BEEN DOING IT FOREVER IN OTHER MODS!!

btw, this is CS

Have you checked for errors in the map and compile log?

um ya, it says

Error: Can't open c:sierracounter-strikecstrikemapsaim_realaim.p0

under the hlbsp

the compile log is a dump file of the process window, btw

to be a lil more specific, my CSG is making the short names and my BSP is making the long names.

Try to batch compile.
Which zoner's do you use?
Get the newset ones: here.
It's the p15 version with the RAD .exe of p13

no

i'm not even running RAD.

i've noticed that the default command that you can select for CSG does the long filenames, which is good. the CSG command lines i add though, do the short filenames, which would explain why all my MODs do it (i had to make command lines for them manually). why is this?
