Hi, im a n00b mapper (ive made one map, de_lonelyhouse, ahich was OK...) And i have no idea how to do this fun CS map im planning.

basically, i want to make a fun CS map that i can mess around with freinds on, and i want it to be simillar to the Opposing force map (forgotten its name :D) where there is a silo, and a bomb that is released that kills everyone outside.

now obviously i couldnt make a proper map like this, as the first person to set off the bomb would win the round for their team, but what i want to do is something like gas is released, that decreases health slowly, and players have to make it to a slio in time.

Basically i just want to know if there is any way i can make a button A)make all the doors close slowly and B) set off some kind of trap (any will do, i just want to mess around :) )

Lockable door: check the Map Vault, Example Maps.

Slow hurt: trigger_hurt brush-based entity.

Well, you're probably thinking of Crossfire. It's a default HL map too.

You could make the button trigger a Multimanager that shuts the doors and activates the traps, whether theyre trigger_hurts or env_lasers or whatnot.

k im making a different map (that one was boring) where players use a space ship to go to a meteorite (i know it sounds crap :) ). The spaceships will just be elevators.

now there are 2 things i need to know... one, can i get a door on the elevator (i presume not), or make the elevator so you cant fall out (its quite a drop...)

and second, i want to make a switch activate two doors. its got to open the first for 5 seconds, shut it, wait 5 seconds, then open the second door, wait 5 seconds, and close it. How do i assign a multimanager to the switch?

omfg. first up on your list of things to do:
read the guide to mapping in the Begginer tutorial section. if you carry on like this, honestly, you'll be asking how to make the taj mahal next, and if it's possible to have teh kremlin and area 51 right next to it too... :x
