You're saying Steam is in its early stages, a couple of bugs huh? Then I guess their support team, which is non-existent, is bug too.
I mean look at all the stolen CD-Keys, I can't even play on Steam because somehow every CD-Key on my Half-Life: Platinum pack is already registered! >:|

Steam is the REAL power! wON had more bugs then Steam! wON was much sloooooower then Steam! It was a hell to download wON patch! It's not a problem for now, becouse HL wON is 125% dead! I had 300 ping on wON i have 100 on Steam. It connets me faster on Steam. It's faster to get server list also. It's not kicking me on Steam. Now i can just PLAY!

Steam....early stages my ass.....for gods sakes they just shut off the 1.5 content servers (BOOOOO) on top of that i was using steam since beta1 I mean not only is it glitchy they refuse to make a decent end all update to fix the stuff instead making many progressive ones that end up fuckin everything up constantly (e.i. friends list dedicated servers, i have to reinstall my entire server every update 
, they dont help along mods by say putting them into the games list or something decent instead of just anouncing them). plus Steam accounts for most of the problems on my computer.

Steam is hard to map for?
I've set up Hammer to map with Steam within minutes! It's not a Steam issue, it's just a change on the old way... remember how hard it was to get VHE set up to compile a map? I didn't know how to compile for months! And that was without Steam. About 3 years ago I guess now.
And CD-keys? That's a fault from SIERRA. A very annoying thing indeed, but to say that it's a fault of Steam... only now that Steam is in use it's being detected...
Some guys even got to map for CS:S... a man with 8 years experience... he didn't find it difficult at all, just a bit tricky. Crap, were did I leave that link?

You know what peoples? There is no war Steam vs. Won. Steam is the only possible solution. And it doesn't force ANY one to use it! You can still map for old hl or don't play at all if you don't like it. If some one is dead it won't woke up again! (in most cases, i think). And now WON hl is long ago dead and half rotten!

The VUE (Violent Unknown Event) is responsible for any possible outcome as a result of the introduction of Steam as recommended by the VUE Commission. However, it has come to my attention that the VFI has conducted a reasonable investigation into the possible responsibility of the FOX society, those who are in favour of the extermination of the bird population.
