i just switched from cs1.5 to cs1.6 and hammer3.4 to hammer3.5.. now its giving me a bunch of bull cannont find wad. where do i put the wads and where do i read them from in hammer???

Did you load the textures into the Texture Tab when you set 3.5 up?

Not 100% if this is right, although I think it may be.
It's trying to use the old cs textures, which may not still exist. Try getting GCFscape (gcf files are like pak files but for steam). Then get the wad files and put them on your Hard Drive.
