I thought I'd help translate all those easily mis understood comments in the mapvault.

"Well, your map has potential..." : Your map sucks, and you suck at mapping.

"You've improved alot since your last map." : You still suck ass, but its alittle better than the last piece of shit.

"You can do better..." : This is shit, and you're shit. Go learn mapping, noob.

"Certain issues appear to be unresolved..." = Everything in this map is crap.

"This is ok if it's one of your first maps" = LOL you're a noob, go kill yourself along with this lousy thing you call map.

Well, that's all I can think of / find right now. Feel free to add your own.

The textures are a little bland=what the hell happened to your textures.

Lacking in plot=What the hell is this!?, is this supposed to be a dm with monsters?

Please give a screenshot and description=I hate you with all my soul!

Okay, some people are just really lazy, but some are just new. Laughing at the lazy ones who've submitted pointless maps with no screenshots, and rated it 5* themselves is different.

I must confess the first post made me laugh though, and Captain P, the sort of people to whom (gramar) ZL is referring are unlikely to frequent this section of the forums - or any other section.

True. Most first maps are just test maps, like 95 % if not 99 % of your maps.

I understand some people are just lazy and expect us to solve their problems, but that's not a reason to flame them. It's not that hard to stay polite. Just give them a link to the tutorials page, no further worries. They'll either read the tutorials or think they don't get helped and leave. After all, it's not always obvious who's lazy and who's not...

Which again proves that mature members are rare, but not missing.

I must have understood you wrong. Taken to heart looks like the Dutch 'ter harte nemen', wich means use it, take it seriously and do something with it (e.g. improve your map). That's what it is for.

And some people feel attacked by constructive critisizm? So what? The person that gave his feedback has done so with best intentions. It's up to the mapper what to do with it.
Sure, I could sit down and cry: "They don't like my map!" I could also decide to improve and deliver a better piece of work next time. That's totally my choice and my responsability.
I think it always hurts a bit when people critisize you. You need to learn not to take it personal and put it to good use instead of feeling hurt.

true. i mean look at my sabotage map. i didnt moan and bitch about everyone hating it, even though i felt i put alot into it. i just went out and mapped. more.
