ok so i just created my 1st map with the tutorial (a bit confused but i think i did everything right) now when i try to run the map it gives me a
"could not find silesystem dll to load' messeg

To help you, we need to know what type of map it is (HL, CS?), how you're trying to run it (have you read the tutorial on how to run a map?), if you have Steam and what editor you're using. :|

just compile it, then open halflife or CS or whatever the map is for, click create server, and click the map, it should work that way.

Im pritty sure im trying to ru an hl map.
i have a vavle hammer editor 3.4
and i have steam

This problem occurs when you have Hammer run HL for you. Manually launch the map as ultrarob described.

ahh im a newb .. but where do you need to put the map so it will come out on the list (when you creat a server) cant seem to find a folder with hl maps (dam steam)

Multiplayer maps need the info_player_deathmatch in order to be recognised as multiplayer maps. They go in the maps folder as usual.

i dont really cear if its on the list just so i can type "map map_name"
and the other thing is i cant find any map folder in the hlaf life folder (steam)

So make one. half-lifevalvemaps, create the subdirectories as necessary.
