My map compressed as .Max .Map .Dxf but CZ refuses to acknowledge it's existence. I put it I the right folder and There were no errors: No Leaks.

WTF is going on? :x

You need a .bsp to play it. And .map sucks, because it can't store visgroups etc., and doesn't compress as well as .rmf. But basically:

.map: like a .rmf but crap
.rmf: save your map in this
.bsp: compile to this
.max: irrelevant file created on compile
.dxf: no idea

.max and .rmx are actually backups of the rmf and map files created when you save the map or rmf. (Thanks to Seventh for this vital information which saved the compo map of yours truly :P ). The real irrelevant files created on compile are the .p0, .p1, etc, .wic, .lin, and .prt files. DXF is a format used by many 3d modelling programs, like Maxon or MAX. You could probably make a map in one of these programs, I'm skeptical on it's playability, in terms of both scale and speeds, however.

The .map file is the one that the compilers read and use.
VHE uses .rmf files to store the map and some other stuff that is irrelevant for compiling.
Exporting to .dxf can be used to fit animations for monsters into your levels.
You cannot import them.

Rename them to *.rmf and/or *.max and, erm, open them.
