Hey, I want to start mapping for DoD but it seems the copy of GCFScape I got might be a dud. I keep getting an error when I try to run it to get the wad files I need to start using hammer. I didn't download it from Nem's site, so that might be the issue, I'm sure you all know his site isn't functioning for spit right now.

Anyone have any suggestions or able to link me to somewhere I can just download the files already extracted? Thank.

Well, apparently it's alive again... seems t'be for me, anyway. If you're still having trouble tonight then I can ZIP up my copy, not sure that it's totally up-to-date though. Maybe you've not got the .NET framework?

Not sure what the problem is. The error message that I get when I attempt to start GCFScape is:

'The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135).'

I don't know if I'm missing runtime files, there's something screwy in my registry, etc. As far as viewing Nem's site goes, not sure what the problem is there either. I use Firefox as a browser, I know there's some compatibility issues every so often, but it doesn't seem to be working in my Crazy Browser or IE either. Your guess is as good as mine. I appreciate any help you all can lend me on this.

The readme included with GCFScape clearly stated that it needed a certain framework to function properly. A link was available to those files where I downloaded GCFScape.

I do believe it uses the .net framework, which can be found here.

Yep, I installed the .net framework and GCFScape is loading up without a problem now. Thank you much for the help everyone... I'm sure I'll be pestering you again at some point now that I'll be starting to learn how to map. ;)

Zombie: Thanks dude.
