Hey, does anyone know the "scale" of WorldCraft ?

Like, if you want to be accurate about how big something is.
So, anyone know how many 'HL pixels' to a 'Real World meter' ?
Like 1 : 100 or something.

Thanks

You cannot convert metric units to units in Worldcraft, or Hammer as you should be using.
If you're only trying to make it accurate according to the player, then consult this tutorial.

As someone recently pointed out, a unit is a pixel.
A pixel does not represent anything in the real world.
The Player POV or peripheral view is something like 72 degrees, and Gordon's legs are 1 foot tall (30cm), his body is 2 foot tall (60cm) and his head is tiny.
His eye's are located just above his navel.

Either way, you can build a 1 unit = 1 inch room and scale all the furniture in it...
The effect is hilarious but it will give you a good grasp of the perspective needed to make your level design better.

Have fun

Why would you need to know that anyway... you should be able to know and point out what looks good, and what doesn't, if your brushes look too thick, too tall, etc.. I always use the info_playerstart as my reference for doors, hallways... etc. :P

As far as i know the perspective in videogames is 90 degree, in real life its close to 170-180 degree.
So thats why things in game look different from real life. You cant make something look exactly the same.

Varies according to game. The POV increases in Source, for example, as you enter a vehicle. There've been complaints about motion sickness from it, heh.

The best thing you can do is built whatever "feels" right.

And yes, one unit in Hammer is one pixel - this helps a lot with texturing and such.

Yes, its easy to make a fitting texture!

Yeah, well, I realize units/pixels can't be translated into real world meters or feet, but anyone have a rough estimate of what it would be ?

from my experience, 64 units is roughly 4 feet (about 1.3 meters)
