Don't know what can cause that, but sometimes when you use noclip and go inside a wall it looks like that, sort of.

i had the same problem. turned out to be some corrupt files in steam. valve fixed it through one of those automatic updates. you should have gotten it. but if its not that it could be that your graphics are set too high for your card to handle or some other program may be interfering with the game.

I had those sort of problems with my Geforce 6600GT turned out I needed the beta driver from nVidia...
