Dandyli0n had added something to my map in the vault, and today when I showed my roommate, she clued me in on an interesting fact..... wall thickness means a lot in CS!

Upon running the map, I stood on one side of the barracade, fired both primary AND secondary weapons into the wall, looked on the other side and it GOES THROUGH!

I tried it from across the map too.

WHo all knew that wall thickness mattered?

Uhh, like everybody who plays CS. Bullets have been going through walls for a long time.

Apparently so.

I don't really like that aspect of it though.

I thought that only the Desert Eagle, any rifle, and the machine gun could only shoot through the walls.

Try it again and see if it is actually going through the wall and not just marking another decal. Have a player go behind the barricade and try to shoot through the barricade and see if it actually damages the player.

Or put some func_breakables back there and see if they break.

yeah, things do bereak behind walls, if u remeber cs_assault, if you were a CT, you could (if u were a good aim) shoot the glass balanced on the wall on the other side, remember? :P

I think the bullets go something like this:
9mm/5-7/P90-1 unit wals, maybe 2 or 3 units.
.45 ACP/.357 Sig-4 to 8 units, maybe.
Deagle/rifles- over at least 32 units
Scout/g3sg1/sg550-64, maybe more, probably not
Awp-more than 128 units!
Galil/famas-maybe 32, probably less
Machine gun-around 64, probably about 70.

But bullets can penetrate better the further you are from the wall.

so, what do you suggest would be a good wall thickness?

I think you will find an informative tutorial on Collective dealing with wall thickness, it is based on Day of Defeat but the figure seem to be consistant.
