so ive tried adding models to my map a few times and my game always crashes when it happens...ive read that i need to make a env_model entity to add them but they dont show up in my entity lists...any ideas?

ok and i have ladders that work with the ladder textures on them but they dont show up in the game...like the ladders work but you cant see them

i was also wondering how the best way to go about making a crater is?

Let's see... A ladder. um, there's a tutorial for it. Make sure you have the rendermodes and FX amounts set correctly so it appears correctly.

As for a crater, that would require a lot of VM. There are two tutorials on that.

Regarding Models:

monster_generic, monster_furniture or a cycler will do. Although some have certain disadvantages and advantages over others (for example, only a cycler will stay at it's exact position, the other entities will pull their model down on the floor)
