sprite not found in every map

well every time i go to load a map or even play half life an error box pops up saying "Mod_NumForName:Sprites/dot.spr not found but i dont even use that on any of my maps. Even when i load a map whith nothing but a player start and a room. I even tryed deleting the dot sprite but it didnt work. any ideas?

How the hell would deleting a missing sprite make it not be missing?

well it sayed it wasnt there when it was so maybe if i just got rid of it it wouldnt cause problems i dunno

Where do but the sprites anyway? I cant find any .spr files... (I'm using steam Valve Hammer...)

They are inside a file called pak0.pak. You can browse the contents with
pak explorer/wally/HL model viewer + spriteviewer.

Just an advice, never delete if you are not sure what you're doing, cut and paste it to another directory.

if your useing steam HL it's in halflife.gcf and you need GCFscape to open it. Look on the links page or google it.
