I made an Ambient Generic, and have some unwanted effects I want to get rid of:
  • I want to hear it everywhere, instead of having to turn in its origional direction.
  • I want the HEV suit talking thing not talk and interupt my sound

a) You mean you don't want any stereo effect? I think you're screwed there. You could always have three in a triangle, that might neutralise the effect reasonably.

b) You'll have to be making a mod and empty the logon wave file, then. Well, that or Spirit.

Mmmmm...isn't there a 'play everywhere' flag or something like that!? :glad:

Don't know off-hand. I think it's in sound/fvox, though.

Put two ambient generics at opposite corners of the map, put them at the very end of the grid in a box and set them both to play everywhere. there you have it, you won't hear the direction of the sound, I win again!

I figured out the placement, and it sounds okay, thanks :)

Ill just live with the silly HEV thing, and make my HEV suit reachable after the music has stopped.

I dunno if it'll help much, but try using the "short logon" flag... at least it'll make the talking quite shorter...
