Yo, this is my first source map remember, so be kind...

I can't figure out how to make windows...
Okey, now if your done laughing.

I want to make windows like in the opening level of half-life2, where they are white shinning through etc. Or they appear white anyway.
But I try to make a window, and all I manage to get is the window texture, but with a load of black space all around it, so how am I meant to make decent windows with that?

Also how do you make it transparent without making the bits between the glass bits transparent aswell?
Because I wanted to make it transparent with something on the other side.

You mean, the shiny windows on the buildings just after the train station? Those are just textures that use env_cubemaps for reflections. You can read up on them on the Valve Wiki.

Valve used models for some windows and textures for others, yep some textures you have to fit with the black on the edges...
