Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Visuals-wise, you've really done an amazing job at giving the old Black Mesa look an awesome facelift, while keeping the overall feel right. It was really nice to see every little nook & cranny crafted with such care and attention to detail. The lighting, brushwork, and atmosphere were all absolutely top-notch.
I especially loved the xen areas with the labs in them - that little touch of destruction in the surroundings did wonders as far as the atmosphere went.
It was also a pleasant experience gameplay-wise. The guns/ammo were sparse enough to make you save them, yet there was almost always enough to make every fight fair.
What I probably liked the most is how you actually let the player get caught with his pants down in some encounters and force him to flee (i.e the agrunt encounters), looking for places to hide. It makes the world feel more realistic, and gives the whole thing a stronger "shit's-hit-the-fan" feel.
Overall, a very fun 15 minutes of well-paced, good-looking action. Highly recommend this.

Daubster, thank you.
gameaddict117o7, You should bring one of the scientists with you to the door (where you start at) He will unlock it for you and you'll make it to the surface by elevator. That is supposed to be the ending.

This is retardedly sick noSICK. This map is MOTM winner for sure.
!POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW! ++great architecture ++beautiful texturing(all original?!) ++Superb small detailing +++Map is huge and consistently detailed throughout. amazing. ++great lighting and lighting effects +some cool effects sequences +fun gameplay more fun-based than puzzle which is fine with me.
+/-Lots of beautiful detail on ceiling is missed becasue you don't give the player a reason to look up. put a barnacle up there or a blinking light or something, to make sure players appreciate that beautiful detail you've so meticulously added to the map! +/- some small detailing looks blocky +some great pitfall traps!
-if you don't drain the slime before you get the scientist, you have no way to open the door and complete the game without cheating. -a lot of places you think you can access you can't because there are invisible clips.(railings that you should be able to jump on, etc) not a big deal -scale on some things seems a bit squished to me -game abrubtly ends at the elevator. is that planeed or was i glitched?
Some REALLY good work sir. Just top-notch stuff any mod team would be very lucky to have you on board. 5-stars for a superb sp level. If you haven't already, i would contact phillip from planet phillip and try to get this on there, he would love it i think.

Bottom Line:
One of the best standalone maps I've ever had the pleasure of playing with an entertaining mix of puzzles and combat which instantly reminded me of why Half-Life was brilliant in the first place. With a bit of back story and a greater sense of purpose this would be just about perfect.Download it.

Bottom Line:
A great tribute to the way gaming used to be for better and for worse. Anyone who's looking for a Half-Life based nostalgia trip should definitely download it. Fantastic work.

This is a great piece of mapping, with architecture superior than that of the official game.
However, I am frustrated by the gameplay. The dearth of ammo and health distract the player from enjoying the map. The gameplay should awe the player and make the player feel powerful and strong. Instead, the paltry ammo makes the player vulnerable and hesitant.
The effects are great, except for the teleportation effect. I think a black or white fade-out would look better than the green and red one. The green-red scheme makes me think of Christmas, not Xen.
