1 heat shrink connecter: 10 cents

1 soldering iron: IDK cuz it's way more then 10 cents

That's that IMO. All you need is a pair of pliers and a lighter or something to beat the previous idea.

Ok, so I didn't bend the jack really. What it did do however is wrench it out of it's rubbery housing and break the already diminishing cable. The headset was getting old anyway so I've just replaced the whole thing. No biggy.

Don't own a soldering iron either.

Lol, he can just cut the wire, buy a quality jack and solder it all together in a few minutes.

You could replace the jack with the one from this thing. It might end up looking ugly but it should work. Probably.
I am no good at electronics.

Wtf? It's almost impossible to bend like that a jack. That mic must have had the weight of a truck.

Meh, I just said that cause I'm used to using 5.25 jacks. Me Jerksta.

My snowball mic fell off my desk and on the way down it clobbered my headset's output jack on the way down. Pretty much wrote off my headset.

Also, half-assed? D:

Best mic I've ever owned.

Yeah heh, not a fan of 'universities' that are actually several random buildings spread over the city. As if there wasn't enough space in the city for a campus.

Now this type of map is what the MOTM was designed for =)

Tremendous variation and attention to detail, and very interesting to explore around, this map is wonderful.

A couple of distractions i noticed:

one unit brushes and gaps
I avoid ever making a brush 1 unit thick or leave 1-unit gaps(like n the crack of your door), because the way HL aliases edges it just stands out too much, and is visually distracting imo.

texture scale
some texture scales(or maybe the texture itself, i'm not sure), like the slate one in the courtyard and a few other places looks like it's stretched too big, and/or is just the wrong texture for that imo. If it looked clearer i would work better imo, but maybe a detail texture would help with this?

world scale
i feel like some things seemed too big. if you developed this testing in HL and now are realeasing in cs, i would understand because i think the camera position is different, but idk, some stuff just seems to big/thick.

shadows
the lighting looks great, but some shadows seem to be missing, like from the trees in the courtyard. For things that don't cast a shadow like illusionaries or models, you can put null brushes above them i think to approximate the right shadow.

anyhoo, great work mate! =P

Cool job.

Yes, my teachers were very understanding! on the first day of my history class my professor basically said "it takes me 45 mins to get here, longer than any of you! There's no excuse for missing my class!" and i looked him in the eye, out of a class of 60 kids, and when he saw me I just shook my head while maintaining eye contact. It took me an hour and a half to get to the building. I let him know that, and he understood.

Teachers are not heartless! You can do fine Striker.

wow it sounds like you are getting quite an exotic education Striker!

Stick with it tho bra, you can do it and it will get easier; you just need some time to adapt. Also, if you start falling behind in anything, don't be afraid seek help from your peers/school/tutors/etc if necessary ;)

Sounds like how my first attempt at college was. Different classes miles away, had to walk, take the subway, then walk again to get to one.

Of course I was not the only person at the school coping with that, lots of kids did. It just wasn't for me. I did at least finish the whole year, it's not like it was a game-breaker.

As intimidating or senseless as it seems, you could certainly get used to it and get yourself on a schedule to complete the year. If near the end of the year you don't feel you could do it for a few more years, start organizing for a transfer to a different school? That'd be my advice. Take it as you want.

Courses are generally held at the college's main building, but seminars and laboratories are not.

What the hell is this crap? All of it should be in campus/faculty building. Unless its a specialistic laboratory or test/work area, such as a workshop.

Thats stupid.
And its not your fault its this far, don't get angry over that so easily.

I have a Das Keyboard ("Silent" version). I've been using it for the last 3-4 months or so. It's without doubt the best keyboard I've ever used. But I wish it had media buttons.

I am just curious, what keyboard do you use, GrimReafer?

I just bought Das Keyboard. It's expensive, but perhaps it can help me improve my typing speed.

Currently, I have he Logitech Illuminated Keyboard.

Hey all! I`ve been a lurker on this website for quite a while now, ever since i started mapping with GoldSource. Got here thanks to your great guides that have helped me a lot; i think i've read every single thing around here and still got plenty of things to learn -_-

Well, i've been mapping for almost an year now, i've made a few other maps besides this one, nothing too special, but i think zm_ko_catacombs is on par with most of the maps around here. So here it is, my small contribution to TWHL.

Any feedback is appreciated...and yes, i know those rocks aren't the greatest thing. Will do a better job next time, still learning :P
