I was going to say something but then realized it's 12AM and that I'm not going to be sleeping until about 3 or 4. The sad part is I don't have a job or any form of schedule that requires me to be with this fucked up sleeping pattern.

I get up at 6AM, leave home at 7AM, travel 90 minutes on the train to work, and get home at 6:45. When I get home I do more work (freelance jobs) and then spend 60-90 minutes studying. I still usually get enough sleep but I definitely don't get enough time for playing games

That sucks big time man, maybe you should take a week off? Dont have any intelligent comment, except maybe revising your schedule to assign time better.

I don't doubt there are people more worse off than me for free time, but I just remembered a few people asked why I sleep so little. Now you know.
The drive home can be a lot quicker depending on what music is playing. Usually dubstep or trance so it's a case of: "I'm going home now. I'm not stopping. Either get out of the road or die! Thanks for listening, Urby"

HDD noise is absolutely normal. And if your hard-drive is quite old, you shouldn't bother. As Stojke suggested, you should do a health scan. There's also HD Tune for that.

No I think it's normal HDD activity noise, just louder than I'm used to. Or maybe it's just that the loud fan is no longer active and masking the normal HDD noises.

backup now! =P
any noise from an hdd scares me. i normally don't hear mine but my 175gb is starting to make some "odd" noises recently, so i backed that shit up quicksmart.
And like Stojke said, if you start hearing any "bad" noises that probably means death is imminetnt and immediate action is required if you need any of that data.

Awesome map! Really big and wide, good FPS and good atmosphere, and well placed weapons and power ups. A bit of not fit in textures, and some hard to actually control atmospheric sound glitches, but thats all in the acceptable limits.
Awesome map, 5 stars.

I've never had any issues with any of the video modes for Half-Life. I guess I'm just lucky. Also 2muchvideogames, Valve has released a Steam update today fixing your issue.

Actually, I have a problem with D3D in Half Life. WON Half Life. Setting it to D3D makes the whole game lag several seconds behind my keypresses and mouse movements. Completely unplayable. I can only run it in Software (sucks) or OpenGL mode (looks the same so I don't care).
The sad part is I don't have a job or any form of schedule that requires me to be with this fucked up sleeping pattern.
LOL! Identical to me.
I'm usually up around the same time as you, Urby. Though my first alarm goes off at 6:30 and I have one more every 10 minutes until I get up at 7.
I stay up late because being at work all day effin' sucks and I just want to play my games and watch my shows for as long as possible when I'm home!

too bad you can't work from home for like half the week or somehthing, so as to take the edge off the commute..
It was entertaining to watch.

If it starts emitting bad noise, such as clicking and loud cracking in random intervals, you should get worried.
Do a health scan with Hard Drive Sentinel. Full scan.
