As I said before:
I believe it works in the same way Google does, sorta. It checks how many times the link has been refered on other sites. By extrapolating that data, they can see how popular TWHL is, and thus the kind of money it could be generating. The monetary value comes from the worth of the site based on its popularity essentially.

Thanks for the nice comments. Rimrook is right, I actually wanted to add the 1214_6.bsp later in another map pack (with the other levels). But the game should have an ending. So I updated the .zip. *Fixed a mapping error in 1214_1 (a texture didnt emit light) *Added an ending for the 5th level.(now the game ends when you enter the door)

Nice clean design, no errors, and perfect for what it is. I like the design, the railings up top remind me of navy ship railings for some reason, and the whole map is very sleek/angular in parts like a modern naval vessel i guess.
I didn't check the r_speeds but i'm sure they're fine.
Possible suggestions:
-add sound (it can never hurt unless it's really annoying/repetative -add more detail/props if you have room in your wpoly budget. -can't think of anything else! = )

Haha do a barrel roll! = P (i haven't herd that in a while)
I thought i was having major performance issues (seeing hom on the whole right side of the map, and then i bothered to read the readme and i see this is for HL2d!
So even noclipping/godmoding through the levels in normal Half-Life, let me say these maps contains a confluence of detail, doodads, various effects and creativity to a level that i rarely ever see. (See definition: Wow Factor.)
If you ever make a normal map version of this, that could be amazing. Those stasis chamebers, the cogs and machinery, the HL2-style tv screens, textures, just everything was top notch, even playing it in the wrong damn mod like i did! = O
5 stars, period.
(i'll try to re-review when i play it in hl2d, though i must say i don't have the patience that much with that mod (though it is very cool , so no offence chickenfist!)

Hmm very nice test map! You're talented in spatial design, and i always enjoy walking your levels. The sky looks nice too, did you make it? (i didn't see any included gfx files and i don't recognize it!).

That doesn't make any sense! The universe is there, and it created me, so therefore I should mean something to it because else it wouldn't have created me, and not reversed!
It's like giving birth to a child, then kicking it out and saying "fuck you, you're on your own!"

Man, if Microsoft ever does manage to get their hands on Yahoo some time in the future like they have been trying to do a while ago, I can't even imagine the value of both companies websites combined!

Granted, no one is using TWHL as a platform for money, but hey, if someone offered me $75 000 for TWHL, I'd sell out like a cheap prostitute!

This is really really good! The mapping quality is top-notch! Why don't you make some DM maps in this theme? Especially the water tunnel part of the map.
Overall, brilliantly made, great variety of obstacles and traps.
However there are a few parts I didn't really understand, like the last map doesn't seem to have an ending to it, not even a "The End" or "To Be Continued" Also, I had trouble jumping over the barrels in that last map as well. (Do a barrel roll!)
I give it five stars. Although the mapping is probably the best I've seen for Flat-Life, I think Flat-Life needs yet another update.
I know that much.
What?
I might be off.

So it can't be based on hitrate, or downloads.
Bytheway, snarkpit.net is worth 330K.
But I've heard there are people who really believe in it
And Rimrook, lrn2read:
"I kept the story short because there will be 5 more maps to continue the story. So the game ends when you get the 1214_6.bsp not found error."
They sound like the catholic church in the 1200's
I wonder how much Snark Pit is worth <checking>
