Well, Urby, they haven't released source code for Portal, Portal 2, TF2, the L4Ds, I doubt they'll release anything for CS:GO or DOTA 2, but they did release code for Ep1 and Ep2. So I think that's the only chance we'll ever get. No Ep3, no code. No code, no mods more complex than mappacks for HL2 on the '09 branch.
And then when mods are gone, PC gaming dies, and not just in the minds of retailers. There will be a burgeoning PC film making industry, however.
2much: Code a VMF to RMF converter, please. The lack of brush dimension memory in Hammer 3.x is painful to work with once you've used 4.

Tell you what, when Valve releases a full code-base for a modern version of the Source engine, (Likely Ep3) and I have access to it, I'll choose one of my many ideas and start working on it.
It will likely feature guns. And possibly things to shoot with them.

Feelings are both a blessing and a curse, but you can't be fully human without them. To quote a song by one of my favorite bands, "You would not feel sadness if you never tasted joy"

Regular dev videos would be nice. Even if they don't help with the mod's popularity, it would be cool and educational. I know I'm always on the lookout for mapping tips from the pros, and I'm sure others are as well.

Joe: The intention was that it would appear that the force of the holster/reholster animations is making the stock flip. I had thought about making it happen with a hand, but that's too complex for my current skill level.

I'd definitely recommend looking into PHP, I think there would be a decent market for database and session driven sites. Lots of people looking to start forums, open online stores, etc. Might as well get started now that you've got some time on your hands.

You're supposed to inhale the smoke into your lungs, I think, but you don't have to, and in fact, it's healthier if you don't. (My dad smokes them "incorrectly" and a few years ago the family doctor thought he had quit because his lungs/airways were still in somewhat decent shape all things considered)
I think cigars are much more concentrated and high volume, so the smoke would be much worse for you (However, considering the shit they put in cigarettes for filler, I can't imagine how you could get worse, assuming cigars are 100% tobacco)
Personally, I would never smoke a cigarette. Fairly sure I would keel over and die from all the second hand smoke I've gotten over the last 17 years if I did.

The (outdated) page on the VDC is basically the only thing on the mod outside of TWHL. I never got around to making a profile for it in MODDB, and I don't currently have my own website. There's really not a whole lot of media for the mod. (Hell, there's barely a mod!)

Joe: You've got a community-made dead barney model I can hack that head onto? Sounds good to me, the less Gearbox-made NPC parts, the better. I'd like to get that shotgun model to you, but Game Front is being uncooperative on my default connection, my highspeed bandwidth is capped out for the rest of the month, and I don't really have any other hosting options to speak of. I'll try again later. Striker: Thanks!

Which reminds me, I have to remind you about those lines I sent you a while back. I know you have much more on your plate than I do, so there's no rush, but I want to make sure you haven't completely forgotten.

I might have been tempted to go for a walk and see if I could get a comparable experience tonight, but it's pouring now. I image that poem is very good in it's original language, and I can definitely see that the point it's getting across is a good one.

For some reason, I imagined you scrunched up in one of those teeny bathtubs. You know the kind, the ones that are about two and a half feet by a quarter meter, on legs, and have all their plumbing exposed.

Just don't let him shoot the hostages, and encourage him to play CT, and it'll probably be alright. I don't think there's any harm in running around ingame shooting walls and windows, kids pretend to do that anyway. Well, I did, at least.

I seem to have a permanent semi-mapper's block these days. I can map, I can think of new ideas, but I just don't feel like it, and whenever I encounter a bug, I just sigh and close the editor instead of fixing it. I tried mapping out the level I'm working on on paper, and that helped a bit, but only for a short burst.
Hmm... Need someway to convert my desire to play FO3 into desire to map...
Yeah, I should, and I probably will sometime, but that'll require further testing on my part. Need to figure out exactly how it works and get some experience with it, after all.

"dream compo entries," XD But yeah, Life's End has like, three drug trips from being gassed. One of them lets you play Captain Kirk. I should re-download Life's End...

I saw a video from this game a while ago, but I forgot to comment on it. It looks and sounds pretty good, though I don't really know all that much about it.

The PC version did. And by "use" I of course mean "abuse", because from the footage I've seen, they did a terrible job compared to the other versions/most half-life mods. I could completely beleive the console versions used goldsource as well, if it weren't for the fact that the PC version is completely different, more low-res, poorly animated, has worse gameplay, low quality sound, etc. There's really nothing in the console versions Goldsource couldn't handle if you tried to get it to.

Some guys play the PS2 version of HL in one episode, as well.
HOW MANY WORDS DID I READ?!

If it's still unavailable later, I'll have to reupload it, I guess. But I'll give it some time in case filefront is just being slow and crappy.
Now go out there and film, act, and edit us a masterpiece.

Also, where did you get the AR sounds? Did you do them yourselves?
