Dominoes is fantastic when you're so high you can't make a phone call.. so you order online and just have them deliver....

Back when i lived in my apartment dominoes was almost my home page.

Hah! thanks skals!
I really wish it didnt crash so often for you!
That's what i get for firing console commands that mess with everything :-P
And as for that door with the shotgun or smg... what happens is the door gets stuck on the bits of flesh that get launched off you when you get hurt.

Everytime you're damaged, bits of watermelon fly off you... straight up..
If one of them lands on top of that door, it cant open all the way...

-again one of the bugs i just didnt have time to iron out.

Thanks for the review darkie!
As for the people looking in weird directions, i didnt use scripted sequences to script the NPC's... i used sounds with the source entity coming from the npc... so the AI stays the same, but the mouth moves... i'm still new to Source Scripting.
And as for the direction, that came down to time.
The antlion game took me SO FREAKING LONG to get working somewhat properly that i lost a lot of time.
Plus that whole "full time job" nonsense.

-just did not have enough time to do everything i wanted to.

well in that case... load up map 2, play the game, switch back to map 2, and fire the command: "m_pitch 0.022"
should be golden then.

did you follow instructions and enable cheats before you ran my map?? the game fires a console command to lock you vertical axis.....
and when a point_viewcontrol is active, the player is invincible. I had to find a way around that. maybe I'll release a thread explaining how I did it all.
or maybe after the compo idk

you never triggered the zombie??
restart that map and then walk to the northeast corner of the room. zombie should light on fire and break the planks...... did you jump up and over it somehow??

@ Atom - That's the game plan. I just have to see how i can form the map, and the triggers, and the enemy movement patterns and the like :-P

Then i'm going to need a health meter - But i think that's going to be easy since i've already done something similar in my compo entry.

well skals the minigane must be completed.
potatis, there's a pressure switch in that room there. grab a box. from the previous room.
if you can't pick it up try crouching.
um the boat is a model. I'm using the default collision box so there's really no functionality if the boat other than decor. and the torch is supossed to die.

probably shouldn't however.

the prize is the RPG. but I never really pulled off the effect so I made the door unlock after the antlion game was finished. it was a temporary solution that I never had time to improve

Madcow the rope is just for show. its just a phys lengthconstraint. and striker... it did take me 5 minutes. I don't think you understand how little time it takes me o compile and run source. I have ep2 always running in the background. all I gotta do is alt-tab into it and run a console command

Holy damn Skals.
Just wow.
The kinds of things you pulled off in the goldsource engine... I have to say i am VERY impressed!

Architecture is phenomenal throughout. - 5 stars there
Texture work is great as well - I noticed a few mis-aligns here and there (vents, some pipe work) but over all 4.5 stars
Gameplay was there too. Idk why everyone was having so much trouble, i got through fine. I played on normal difficulty and it was challenging but not too hard.

I really didnt get what was going on in the dream.. but there were the "wtf?" moments and a few that made me jump.
And the shattering glass effect in that bathroom was incredible! didnt see that coming at all.

5-stars my friend, and good luck in the compo!

Well put Penguin.
See if there's a best buy or a staples (if you have them around you) or any old electronics store.

See if they have a bunch of mice out on display for you to use and see if you like.

sounds like the G9. It's wired. and is nice and big. Fits comfortably in my hand.
When i use other mouses, they're all sucky in comparison :(
The wire has a low-friction coating on it too so it wont bind or snag on stuff. its neat - pretty legit.
Commented 14 years ago2010-08-28 08:52:08 UTC in journal: #6736 Comment #44568
I've had good times with my G9
Incredibility ergonomic, amazing feel to it, and it comes with removable weights too.

I got mine pretty cheap, but it costs anywhere from 60-100 USD. - Not sure what the conversion is.

The middle mouse button is hard to click at first but you get used to it quite fast.

I am heavily opinionated about laptops.
None of them that i've seen really are good deals.
You either get a lot of processor speed, with high heat output and crap batter life,

or some random mix of good ram / terrible hard drive, or good hard drive/ terrible ram.

If i were you, i would set a budget. a MAXIMUM budget like...
"Wouldn't be caught dead buying something for this much"
and take it down by 30% (guideline)
Google shop, tiger direct, newegg, ect ect
Just keep searching and searching until you think you've found the best bang for your buck.

And if you're going for movie editing, get HDMI / hi-def screen.

When it comes to laptops, i often find that if you dont splurge and spend a lot of money now, you're gonna have an outdated machine fairly quick.

2cents.

Commented 14 years ago2010-08-04 22:08:50 UTC in vault item: Power Hour Timer Comment #18327
Power hour is when you take one shot of beer every minute for an hour. its somewhere around 4-5 regular beers
It's usually made to a mix of 1 minute long tidbits of music on a CD, and every time the music stops you drink.
It just gets you hammered really fast.
Commented 14 years ago2010-08-04 22:01:54 UTC in journal: #6692 Comment #61980
When i play drums to music, i use my iPod ear buds and industrial earmuffs. The buds fit very nicely into the padded centers. and then you dont even have to have the music that loud.

My dad had the earmuffs layin around for weed-wacking and using the chainsaw and stuff. They're mine now hahaha.
I've been playing the guitar for 8 years now, but when my drummer goes away to college, i steal his set and put it in my garage. =] I only know a few songs and i'm real garbage at playing, but they're hella fun.

It's almost 5 years with my girl. It's been rocky, and i think we're going downhill. But we're fighting thru it.
I've had cake and sex at the same time. Its very messy, and the sex isnt that good because you're worried about getting cake everywhere.

[ i'll never forget that. lol -true story.
