Don't be one of those evil corps please! Congratulations satch, good to hear everything's working out for you. I'm still going to be poor for another 2+ years until im out of college.

holy damn dude. If i show this to my professor he's going to flip a shit. We just finished the 8bit and 16bit timers.. (we're using the 16F877 PIC)AND we run at 4mhz. only thing we did differently with a 1 second count was to use option reg at xxxx0010 using a 64bit count, and we set the interrupts to 61 or something. Don't remember the actual code or anything, but we program in BASIC and not assembly, god that must be rough.

Holy shit dude. RIGHT now i'm taking a PIC micro-controller programming class lmfao. That's a coincidence. As for hardware design, all you could do is have the PIC keep seconds, minutes and hours, and output those numbers to a decoder into a few 7-segment displays, OR you could just get a LCD display.... I've been thinking of hooking my car up with ice blue LEDS for night cruising just under the foot rests and beneath the cupholders. With a simple 5v voltage-reg circuit and a on-off switch I could get even fancier with a potentiometer controlling a PWM for brightness..... nah

I can take 5 of my friends at the same time. We always play 5v1 and i usually win but they're getting better everytime we play so it takes me a lot more effort every time to keep winning.

Karma is like this: If you're an asshole, you're gonna have terrible luck and have everything go bad for you. But if you're good, good things happen to you and you have good luck. In the religions that study karma, Karma is a way for you to move up the social ladder. If you're piss-poor that means you were a terrible person in another life, and in this life you're being punished for it. So in order to NOT be poor in the next life, you gotta be a good person and all that.

My Easter was good too. I partook in an Easter egg hunt myself. I'm 21. Then it was the adults turn so the kids hid all the candy around the yard and my aunt forced my uncle up a ladder onto the roof and then tipped the ladder down. He was throwing candy at us and ordering us to put the ladder back.
like assaulting us with peeps is going to help. Lmao
we let him down in like 3 minutes. and yeah, fire ants suck.

Yeah all my friends moved away when they went to college. I was left in the background as well. I just moved on and met new people, got close to them. Not to say i've forgotten about my old friends however.
The way i feel about the friends i have now is that i'll do anything for them, and they know that. I offer my services to them whenever they need and i ask for nothing in return, but i'm careful to not get taken advantage of. Gotta ask for a little something in return every now and again. Now that i'm 21, i always tell em they owe me a beer. So they take me up on the offer and we go to a bar after school and just bullshit for a few hours. People come and go stu, just keep on keeping on. You'll make an effort to hold on to the people you really care about.

Shepard, just do the homework, and you'll be fine. Even if the homework is not mandatory, just do it. If you're having trouble with anything, talk to your professors. Let them know who you are, and let them know that you're making an honest effort. If they see that, they're more likely to give you a grade boost if you need it. Im sure your uni has an academic support center, and get to know the people sitting around you. Studying / doing homework in groups is what's getting me through my years right now.
I started school as a Mechanical Engineer. I knew how to use Solidworks because i did part-specs and prototyping for my high-school robotics program, and it's REALLY EASY to learn. If you can hammer, you can do solidworks. MATLAB, as mentioned before, is an amazing piece of software, but learning the programming for it is a severe pain in the ass. (at least my experience was) Nef is correct, just google it and you can get help. As for calculus, go to midnighttutor.com for some really well-taught video tutorials.
In my case, i'm an Electronic engineer. So i get to deal with electronic simulation software, and programming microchips. I never dreamed i would like the stuff i was learning.
Anyway good luck!

I would recommend making all the nameplates func_illusionary - so you don't get caught up on them, and also make the lights func_walls. They'll still emit light, but they wont carve up the ceiling. Also, you only have 10 months for EOTM.

I am using the compilator, but Dave is not. I figure i'd let him get acquainted to hammer and 'F9" before he delves into the awesomeness of the compilator. Baby steps, Atom

so does 13 3's. But i guess it's a hacked .exe that doesn't need any registry shit to run (or something, idk i might be talking out my ass). so you can run it off a flash drive if you really wanted to. But anyway we're organizing it like this:
Get the storyline all set up, which it essentially is, then we're making 3 basic levels.: An introduction, a main conflict, and a conclusion map. Once those 3 are working and the Bare-bones structure of the mod is laid out and playable, then we're gonna fill in the details in-between all the maps. Hopefully it works, else we're just going to have one giant mess on our hands.
So once the maximum amount of maps are made, we're going to detail the maps and make em look pretty - as pretty as we can anyway, for some reason the schools computers dont select properly in the 3-d view, and there's no possible way to select a single face in the texture tool. It just never selects the face you want to... i can't figure it out and there's no way to update the drivers. (computers are on deep freeze, they restore to previous condition after a reboot) The network drive stays all nicey-nicey however.
It's great too because we read the files off the K: drive, but compile and run on the C:\My Documents folder. So the rmf's are on the network always, and the bsps get overwritten if we forget to copy em. No biggy.
And as for detail and texture work, i can always bring the maps here (home) to mess with.

Absolutely nothing.. But the only 2 people who really care are me and my friend dave. Both of us have legit copies of the game, we're just using that copy on the network drive to test our maps and stuff.
I'm not sure how to go about making one myself.
Congratulations satch, good to hear everything's working out for you.
I'm still going to be poor for another 2+ years until im out of college.
And a Bunch of my friends are 21+ and go to school for game design at RPI... Lemme give one of them a holler.
Oh... and would this help you at all? http://www.best-microcontroller-projects.com/schematic-drawing-program.html
and.. for a LCD 0-5v volt meter:

I predict shotty map work (kids a noob) bad voice acting, and even worse model re-texturing.
My condolences to your family. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I'm gonna chill with the girl and watch akira, just go with the flow essentially.
