E3 2008! What Games Will Be Revealed!?
It's that time of the year!
Another explosive E3 event and thankfully GameTrailers.com has teamed up with E3 once again to bring us the latest news and media from each day.

One game trailer that caught my eye was Chrono Trigger remade for the DS! I never got a chance to play the original so this makes me happy.
While looking up information on the DS remake, I found out that many years ago a team of people actually started to remake the game into 3D but unfortunately Square Enix threatened them legally and the development had to stop.

In other news, I was very pleased to have completed Donkey Kong Country on an emulator. I'm not sure if I completed it when I was younger because I think I may have cheated out of getting annoyed of constantly dying.
Finally today is the day I get my two new cats called Tia and Roxy. They're tabby cats but their main fur has a strange black and gold texture. I'll upload pictures sometime when they have adapted to their new home.

Hey, I'm back...Sort of...
I wasn't really gone to be honest but I have been less online lately and this is due to a few things which I'll explain.
First off it's summer so I've been enjoying the sun as most people are. Ooo my arms feel like they're on fire.
Second I lost interest of the same routine: Go on TWHL, Interlopers, check emails, go on MSN and other stuff I can't remember. So I just took a break from all this really.
Thirdly on Sunday last week me and my parents went to a cat shelter to adopt a new cat. It has been a year since our last cat died and we felt it was time for another. Only...We fell in love with two very special sisters who we think are pedigree...They have a tabby appearance but their main coat is sort of gold with many black bits. So now we?re getting two?
It was kind of sad to see these cats locked in although unlike most cat shelters this one had a sort of open area where the cats could walk around and sit outside (keep in mind it's all caged).
I went up to this really nice black cat who turned out to be 17 years old. S/he was very friendly and it upset me to see it stuck here. Rarely anyone wants an old cat so most likely it'll die there.
Anyway I have got to wait a week because a small cat infected the whole shelter so these two new cats called Roxy and Tia are being drugged and injected. Supposedly the previous owner was some tart who was evicted and couldn't keep them hence their names...Sort of Essex like XD
Lastly yesterday my Dad as per usual worked too hard on building our garden pond and ended up tripping on some stairs. He twisted his ankle and from what I heard, it sounded painful...Anyway he said his eye sight was going and he felt sick...He then passed out and my poor Mum thought the worse because my Dad's family has been known to have weak hearts at his age.
We called an ambulance and as we did he came back to consciousness and said he felt alright. It turns out he passed out from the pain but at the time myself and my Mum were none the wiser. We were very traumatised but everything is ok.
It's hard to believe something like this would happen to yourself because you see it on TV and hear about it but you never fully comprehend it happening to your own family...
Well that's my story really so far. I got a 3ds Max book to learn for my second year at university and my course results come in tomorrow. Apart from that I ended up reformatting my PC yet again as my NVIDIA driver corrupted and a system restore just didn't do much good so I opted for a fresh start and I'm glad because it's nice and fast again and clean.

I received MGS4 this morning and I've been playing it since 11 to 2 and so far I am hugely impressed with the presentation and the quality of the game.
I am also a little shaky because I felt like I was really in the warzone @_@
I just did the part where you fight the FROGS and I'm about to approach Liquid...
Gameplay has been improved and I actually smiled when the intro music played because I had a feeling they'd use that particular song. It's a deep game and I have found it easy to follow so far!
If you have a PS3 then it is a must buy!

When you meet the gun launderer he injects you with suppressor nano machines to let you use the ID guns. If I recall in a trailer Snake and the soldiers around him struggle to move etc and my bet is these new nano machines are also going to suppress Snake...
I'll find out after lunch :>

Yup I was right ^^
A lot has happened but generally we've left the East and gone to rescue Naomi. Snake rescues her only to find out that his aging is due to his design as a clone and not because of FOXDIE. Also the foxdie has mutated inside of him because he has aged so much which means in 3 months it will not be able to decide who it is programmed to kill so it will become a virus that will kill a lot of people.
So in other words looks like Snake has to die :<
Then Naomi spotted another FOXDIE cell which I think was injected by the weapons dealer and just as she is about to scan it she gets taken out of the room by PMC's and Snake is attacked by one of the Beasts aka the octupus one...So right now I'm fighting her and she uses her suit to change into anything...A minute ago she was the MK 2 but a giant version so I shot a rocket at her ^^
Oh also turns out The Patriots aren't human...they're AI and they control soldiers with nano machines connected to the 'system'...
Vamp has appeared and seems to be an ally with the 4 beasts...Raiden dissapeared after the second game and so Rosemary (his girlfriend) ended up marrying the Campbell aka the colonel.

Spencer The Spinnin' Spider
A few posts down I mentioned I would upload my games coursework. We had to make a simple 2D game with Macromedia (Adobe) Director MX 2004 using Lingo programming code.
This was my first time using Director as well as writing out the Lingo code therefore don't expect anything professional. My friends said they enjoyed playing it and as my friend Dan stated:
"If you can beat your own game then it must be a very good game idea!!..."
Indeed I found myself playing the game when I should have finished fixing the bugs ^_^
I just tried publishing it as a Flash file but it looks buggy therefore I am uploading the .exe version which was published using Director. (Don't worry it's safe!)

A Summer Update

O. I am eagerly waiting for Metal Gear Solid 4 and Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit for the PlayStation 3!!! (Even though PS3 sucks I can't miss MGS4)

O. Lastly I will write up that Assassins Creed Review sometime! I promise!

What will I be doing? Well I plan to learn 3DS Max some more, work on my mod for HL2, write more blog entries, play MGS4, DBZ: Burst Limit, GTA 4 etc and generally have a good time!
Next week I'll be free to record more EP2 and Portal videos so expect plenty then! Oh I'll also upload my Games Coursework 'game' for those who want to try and beat my score of 26 ^^ It's a fun yet simple game where you move a spider across the top of the screen and click to abseil down catching good bugs and avoiding the bad bugs.
And to add to this post I must say a farewell to Maria Love who left UEL for a sexier games course. My friends and I gave her a 'Good Luck' card, a Game Voucher and a Tomb Raider figurine (Because she never stopped going on about it :)...)

Well it's my birthday on the 29th...Just thought I'd say. I'll be 19. I sure don't feel like it ^^
Anyway cause I have uni on that day I managed to sneakily convince my mum to give me my presents early. I knew what they were since I ordered them myself hehe. I basically got a DS because I had to write a games document for my first coursework and the platform had to be a DS. Doing so much research on it eventually made me fall in love with it. Zelda is awesome on the DS! My only concern is this is the first platform to actually hurt my hands and eyes after a short amount of time.
Apart from the DS I got clothes, new pair of shades, House of Dead 2 & 3 on Wii and some dumbells for exercising ^^
Lastly I've mentioned before but I updated habboi.co.uk from that old shitty site to a blog.

If you've seen the GTA 4 UK TV Spot video then you'll know that the main character Niko walks towards the screen and as he does the background changes to different areas. I loved the idea so much I wanted to recreate it in Assasins Creed PC.
Anyway I noticed FRAPS wouldn't work in AC so after some research I decided to try a more updated version. It worked! But to my shock it also recorded sound! it somehow detected a sound driver called 'Vista'...I guess the old FRAPS was made before Vista hence why I couldn't record sound.
I'm happy now cause I can record Portal and EP2 ;O

In the end the mod died cause of my lack of leadership skills and the fact my modeller left me and no one wanted to help XD I had so many ideas. Folders filled with references, pics of Kaspergs maps funny enough cause they inspired ideas and such. I even mapped the intro which was a desert island. Just for scenes between each fight but it was rather crappy.

My friend from Uni has been working on this small mini mod. It's only 2 maps but he said it lasts about 40 mins which is quite impressive. I tested an early build and loved the new idea. The gameplay is HL2 in sense but it has a neat new idea which makes the maps unique.
Worth trying out I'm sure when he releases it sometime.

Took a break from mapping today to play HL2: EP2 again. Only this time on max GFX.
Looked very nice and the ending still worked on me even after knowing what happens. Although I can't forget the shivers down my spine when Eli thanked me for all that I had done. I thought oh great he is out in the open...he'll be snipered...I did not expect BOOM NOES STAB SLURRRRRRPPPPP NOOOOOOO don't leave me!
Still I am quite curious how Valve will start EP3...Whether we'll ride in the cockpit or end up telling Kleiner and Magnusson who end up having a funeral before we leave...Still I like to see what they do with the artic if we go there...Source still has a bit to go before outdoors look good...EP2 did well but foliage faded in as I drove closer...
On another note I noticed a lot of mods are being announced now. Hunter?s stands out as one. It has a unique style to it and I hope it is finished unlike its sister counterpart. I myself started a small SP mod quite a few months ago. I spent about 2 months roughly (not 24/7) on the first map which has a lot of scenes. This is my first real attempt at releasing something to my best ability and I hope I can finish it sometime...It will be a long wait if I can push myself. Reading a creative writing book by some woman...she said whenever she didn't feel like doing something she would push herself to do a little so that at least she put something behind her back for the day and you feel good that you did 'some' work...
Anyway I never said have a good 2008 so yeah...I expect lots of awesome maps and mods from you guys!

On another note I noticed a lot of mods are being announced now. Hunter?s stands out as one. It has a unique style to it and I hope it is finished unlike its sister counterpart. I myself started a small SP mod quite a few months ago. I spent about 2 months roughly (not 24/7) on the first map which has a lot of scenes. This is my first real attempt at releasing something to my best ability and I hope I can finish it sometime...It will be a long wait if I can push myself. Reading a creative writing book by some woman...she said whenever she didn't feel like doing something she would push herself to do a little so that at least she put something behind her back for the day and you feel good that you did 'some' work...
Anyway I never said have a good 2008 so yeah...I expect lots of awesome maps and mods from you guys!
Well good news. I don't think I told you but turns out my PC doesn't support 'What u hear' and 'Stereo Mix' so I couldn't record EP2/ Portal. Thankfully Axel said he'd do it ;D Expect them sometime on youtube.
