I use Nem's Batch Comiler as well... I like it because you can actually see the rad compile progress (% completed comes up as it's doing it) that way I see how long it would actually take.
VHE compiler has been freezing on me lately... and I even HAVE z's tools in there shrugs the batch compiler may be another program that runs, but it's not much more consuming than say, notepad.
Searched Google for "half-life tutorials" because there USED to be this one site 3 years ago, and I couldn;t find it. I figured "What the hell, see what THEY have" and OMG was I impressed!
Andy do you remember the entry I pt in for "trapped"? Does someone have the archive of entries for the compos?
Sorry ZL... I think I was just in a bad mood. Hey my wife is always saying that she think's I'm cute when I get a big kick out of goofy sh*t like that. I admit it's pretty cool lookin though hehe.
Has anyone ever gotten bored enought to bind unused keys?
My point was that you failed to recognize the quorte I made in the original thread. I admire the technique mentioned, and I believe it isa general mapping issue because it is designated IN MAPPING. FX and render modes deal with how an entity is visible... correct? Then THAT is a mapping technique.
Dude, I don;t see why you are bitching about me thinking something like that is cool - why you publicly decided to flame me is beyond reason. Look, I think it's cool so I'm gonna say it. Whether you like it or not, sir.
Also, the vault map you linked to is WHERE I LEARNED ABOUT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!
I just realized I could always save in both formats, and then compile the .map - if I have to make changes I can always reload the rmf, and adjust it, then save again in both. COOL!
I've completely suspended both the gun and clips from the respective shelves, and still the ammo poof that's okay - I'll use another shelf or relocate the ammo.
Visgroups have no effect when you save the map in .map format, which is what is required for my compiler... VHE's compiling method always freezes on me.
The gun is somewhat laying in the upper shelf, but the ammo has been suspended from any of the brushes by at LEAST 1 unit..... I've tried suspending the weapon as well... I'm thinkin this ammo needs to be placed elsewhere, I found that shelf in a prefab pack from ejoop.com (had to retexture it though) and I liked it's design. There are others.
Okay, now someone explain THIS one! in the VHE portion, I have three clips of 9mmAR ammo on the bottom shelf, and the 9mmAR rifle on the top... I save, good... I compile, GREAT! I run, and POOF (what you see on the RIGHT) Can anyone shed some light on this one?
Zombie..... I'm not trying to be an ***hole here, but please try to have some respect for the dead.
Ray Charles set the standard on playing the piano even with being blind since age 7. He's put a hell of a front on blues, jazz, R&B, and even made his own style basically with his music. Remember "We are the world"? How about "I got a woman"? He was a legend in music.
I use the textured view, and texturing isn;t the problem - it's having all those walls and such in the 2d views getting cluttered..... and it's planning out the simplest application of ceilings/floors to walls.....
I've made sort of a structure with 5 brushes... I'd like to hollow the whole thing out, but it's asking to make EACH BRUSH a hollowed room... and grouping them together, it won;t hollow at all. Is there a remedy for this? :
Bratty - Don;t get me wrong, I believe Ronald Reagan made a lot of progress on certain things, it's just that Ray Charles death saddened me more because of my interest in piano playing.
When I heard of Ronald Reagan's passing, it saddened me slightly because I was barely involved in anything the president did. I had my own problems, what would grieving over someone I barely knew do?
Then today as I watching TV, a news flash came on (text at the bottom) telling of Ray Charles dying today. This saddened me a lot more, because he is among the piano players of today which I idolize. Him, Billy Joel, Sir Elton John, and BY ALL MEANS the late John Lennon even inspired my musical interest.
The problem is when you create mltiple hallways, which on the 2D views you can see several walls that look like they are all mixed up... then you try to fit brushes in as floors, and they are all misaligned (appear that way) in different views..... it gets confusing.
I'm trying to make a map with a bunch of hallways that twist and turn (somewhat like a maze, but not REALLY a maze)
I'm starting to get confused with how to fit the walls and floors together - some walls look like they overlap (in the joints) Also should I put the wlls and floors ON TOP (and below) of the walls or should I fit them INSIDE the walls?
MonkeyChow... So far you have offered the most... I should warn you that buyer pays shipping costs... I dunno if I should just go through USPS or one of the shipping companies.
Well it works, and now I'm wondering if tyhere's a way to create multiple beams with the same env_beam, or so I have to create EACH AND EVERY env_beam for each line... can you overlap all the env_beams?
I have 2 info_targets beam1start & beam1end I have the env_beam with those 2 info_targets deignated, life=0 The flag "start on" in checked in the env_beam
