Maybe its just me but I'm always for the Single Player stuff. You integrate the tech lab and the space scenes into a single player mod or multiplayer map.

The mansion? uhm...Maybe a horror themed map with puzzles (Resi Evil style) :biggrin:

If the next generation of police officers are going to abuse their power like this then its obvious how the general public will react.

maybe the mod uses hl2 textures because there are combine soldiers, combine helicopters, etc. and because the story has something to do with hl2!!

Another chance for you to get into the KinetiX creds.

I need advertising. Let me explain. Neonite City is built solely for Urb Tech employees. Everything from Media staions, food and toilet paper is made and distributed by Urbanebula Tech. I now ask for your help. You don't need any experience with photoshop or paintshop pro but only the best images will be used.

I need you to create billboards and posters to be used in the mod. 256x128 images advertising really crappy products with cheesey slogans. There must be a free square space for the Urb Tech logo (already done) which can be as big as you like and it must say "Urbanebula Tech." somewhere on the advertisment. Multiple entries most welcome.

(Feel free to advertise your own maps and mods and you may also put your name in the image somewhere for recognition although you will appear in the credits.)

You just have to figure it out manually. If it is a single brush the dead center is where the 'x' is on the 2d views.

If the entity is broken into several brushes then you should select the lot and check the dimensions at the bottom of the screen and half the height/length/width accordingly.

I assume your talking about an origin brush if concerning elevators and trains. In which case just put the origin block (i tend to make it 32x32x32 and place it in the center of the floor (the lower most brush)

The zombines talk as well. Thats much less freaky though. Actually I'd say it was more comical. The fact that the soldier has been headcrabed and at the same time still relays messages over his radio, warning his comrades of the incoming thread. Such as "Necrotics Inbound" and "Biotics overrun"
also, i like that part barney says "FUCK YOU!"
I like the way they covered it in the game by dropping the citatel gates at the right moment.

Casting Update

Ok, I just cleared out my inbox so if you tried to get in touch try again. Also my e-mail is being a bitch so I you've emailed auditions to me send them again via a PM.

However if anybody other than Kasperg is interested and haven't got their stuff up yet get on with it! I want the sounds casting sorted by the end of next week (Sunday 12th) so that scripts can be completed and recording can commence.

However I may also include a twist to make this more involving. It will work along the lines of a picture story. Meaning you'll see all the action in the screens but all the dialogue will be written out. The key feature is with your choice this can either be a Multiple choice thing or not.

So heres an easy one to get into the spirit of things.

Should this be Multiple Choice story or just a graphical story for reading?

A) Multiple Choice.

B) Grapchical story.

I told her it was the WTC yes. She kind of gave me a funny look before saying "Are they aloud to make stuff like that? What sort of game is it?"

I didn't have the heart to tell her the truth because she loves New York so damn much and she was in awe at being able to (sort of) wonder around the grounds again.

I just said. "Some body has made it as a Half-Life 2 level but there's no fighting or anything." :nervous:

@Habboi: Joe will reappear from time to time in set scenes and will only actually interact with you the one time when you have to get to a subway station.

@Kasperg: Great stuff. Oh and native english isn't a must. The Kinetix Laboratory and the surrounding city of Neonite acts as a scientific hub. Every resident and employee in the city are from the top of their field throughout the globe.

The only real problem is pronounciation, and to me that was all very clear. :D

Hey guys.

As with most of my mods I will be doing most of the voice acting myself but in the case of KinetiX I need a voice actor for the role of Joe who is a mechanic based in East Neonite City. He will act as a barney character, offering the player support and granting access to certain areas that would otherwise be inaccessable. There are no models concerning this character as of yet. (Tell a lie there is one simply called 'Joe_remains.mdl' which leaves little to the imagination that this character will meet a grizzly end during the first episode.)

Character development is not as imperitive as it would be in HL2 because there is no emotion capture ability but it would be good if this could be taken seriously and if you really use emotion when you speak.

Audition lines are as follows:-

player has just climbed out of a surface hatch into Joe's workshop. Joe is shocked and a little confused about recent events in the city. This speech will play as the model beckons the character over to a doorway.

"Holy crap! You scared the hell out of me! Get in here quick."

After Joe has delivered a series of sentances concerning the current situation Joe leads the player to a gun he has created himself to take down armoured enemies. He is somewhat proud of this invention. The script here will be comprised of 2 seperate recordings.

wav1. "Oh, before you go, take a look at this."

wav2. "This is what I've been working on these last few days. It uses standard 357 ammo but I've added a little something to the chamber and trigger mechanism. You might want to try it out first. Oh and...cover your ears." (optional chuckle)

Any audition wavs can be PMed to myself, posted here or e-mailed to Urbanebula@hotmail.com.

Alternatively you could add me to MSN and wait for me to turn up. :D

I have downloaded this map and had a run around. I was never given the chance to visit the WTC but my fiancee has and she looked up while I was running around the courtyard at the back and she said "I've been there! What you playing!?"

Its good that its accurate.

One thing though. I just know I'll find myself tapping '1' in a firefight in a desperate search for the grav gun.

Having said that it had been proved that physics in HL1 in not such a big didtant dream anymore.
